Lily, Alice and Marlene rushed into the common room after the sorting ceremony and threw them on the couches, crumbled in laughter, tears of joy in their eyes. James, Sirius, Peter and Frank came in the room a minute later. They wondered why the girls were laughing so much, but Frank threw himself down next to Alice, Sirius next to Marlene and James and Peter sat on each their side of Lily. About five minutes later the girls finally stopped laughing. "Oh god, that was bad," Marlene said. Sirius frowned, he wanted to know, what it was about, "Why were you laughing". Lily had apparently forgot she hated him and replied: "Didn't you see" Sirius was getting impatient, "saw what". This time Alice replied:" Liam, Marls' guy, looked so desperate after Marlene's attention, and she just said "later" and left him standing looking so desperate. "It was so funny". None of the guys' understood anything. James asked: "Why would you do that". Marlene pointed her finger at him: "My friend, there's so much, you don't get about the female mind". James was clueless. Then Alice said something: "It's different from guys to girls. Girls just stay interested; they don't lose interest in the guy. Girls have to keep the guys interested. Now Liam is desperate after Marlene and is interested. She has control".
The guys sat silent. Where this true? That wasn't good. Then Frank said: "You don't play me". "No Frank I don't" Alice said, "I'm fantastic, you can't lose interest in me". This made them laugh. Frank said: "True thing". Then James said: "Evans, you haven't yelled at me all night, are you okay". Marlene and Alice looked annoyed. Lily looked shocked: "You wan't me to yell at you" "No, no, no" you've just never not yelled at me". Lily stood up and went up to her dorm, ignoring James' calls after her. Marlene and Alice stared angry at him. "You just had to, we keep defending you, when she criticize you, and then you start in the same second, when she forgets all her hatred for you" Alice gave Frank a quick kiss and then she left with Marlene up to their dorm.
James didn't know what happened. "What did I do" "Prongs, I think you should have kept your mouth shut". Frank tried to ease the tension: "She'll be herself soon enough, if I'm not mistaking much Alice and Marlene are defending you again". James was sad, he loved Lily, not that he'd admit it, but he didn't wanna hurt her. He thought things could change.
Lily cried. She didn't want to be his friend, but she didn't want to yell at him anymore. Now he'd ruined it. Lily heard Alice and Marlene come in. "We won't bother you Lily, but don't be too mad at him. He doesn't think"
NONE OF WHAT SEEM FAMILIAR BELONGS TO ME. I'm going to have a few moments where Lily and James are okay. I know their not supposed to be civil until 6th year, so Lily still hate him, but they will have moments.
