three - what's a pirate's favourite letter?
the group was on their way back to the safe haven to inform everyone of what had happened, about lancelot and so they could figure out a new way to get ophelia, emma, and mary margaret home.
"i don't know if i can do this. i'm not a very good liar," aurora admitted.
"oh, it's not really a lie, aurora. lancelot did die an honourable death, and cora did escape. all true. just leave the particulars to us. there's no reason to cause unnecessary panic amongst your people," mary margaret reasoned.
"i'm not so sure it's unnecessary—" aurora began.
"wait. the tower. we always have sentries guarding the entrance. stay close," mulan interrupted, drawing her sword and moving ahead of the group.
"jesus," ophelia muttered as saw the multiple corpses scattered across the land. she stepped over quite a few, instantly feeling guilty as she did.
emma gasped, "oh my god".
"this can't be our land. we were protected here, hidden. how did the ogres find us?" mulan questioned as she moved around the bodies, examining them.
mary margaret did the same, "ogres didn't do this."
"what?"
"cora did. their hearts, they were ripped out. this is her magic, twisted and evil. we have to stop her."
"too late. she killed them. she killed them all," she mourned.
"well, we have to stop her before she hurts anyone else!"
emma had spotted something, or someone, amongst the bodies and debris, "hey. hey look."
"there's someone under there," aurora finished.
they jumped into action, well the others did, ophelia just watched, helping him up. she didn't notice how his eyes trailed her but emma did, pulling her sister away. they sat him down and made him comfortable.
after reassuring him they wouldn't hurt him they began discussing the man and went to grab him some water.
"have you seen him before?" emma asked, having pulled her sister with her to 'grab the water'. they were very slowly walking back towards him.
"yes, i've seen him around. he's a blacksmith. came to our camp a couple months ago. said he lost his hand in an ogre attack," mulan explained.
ophelia eyed the man, a frown obvious on her face, "why would cora leave a survivor? it's messy and doesn't make sense."
"you think he's lying?"
"i think cora's tricked us before. i don't want that to happen again," emma said. "and i don't like how he was looking at ophelia."
