chapter sixteen - diamonds are a girls best friend
the magic beans had been stolen and everyone suspected regina. except she was missing and ophelia was pretty worried. she hadn't seen her in a while, and as her self-appointed best friend she was determined to find her.
they tried her office first. emma and david went first, guns up. ophelia rolled her eyes and waked past them. emma huffed, lowering her gun when she realised it was safe. of course ophelia just walked in. she was starting to worry about her sister's lack of care about her own life.
"it's okay, she's not here," emma called. she turned to ophelia. "i thought i told you to wait."
ophelia shrugged. "i didn't want to."
"when you find her, you're not gonna hurt her, right?" henry asked.
"no. we just want the beans she stole from us," emma reassured.
"i don't get it. why would regina leave her office unlocked?" mary margaret questioned.
david walked over to a plant in a glass case, "especially when she's keeping the beans here."
ophelia leaned towards them. "was. they're gone."
emma nodded. "something's not right. regina would never leave evidence like this behind."
"maybe she already used them to portal out of storybrooke," david suggested.
emma shook her head. "without henry? i don't think so."
"what if something bad happened to her?" henry asked. ophelia sent him a sad smile, holding out her hand for him to take. which he did. she gave his a gentle squeeze.
emma pressed some buttons on the alarm pad. "security system says the last time someone was in the office was around six this morning." she pressed another button, overriding the system. "they used an override code to get in."
"why would regina need an override code on her own alarm?" david questioned.
ophelia stared at the alarm. "she wouldn't."
"you think someone else broke in and took the beans?" mary margaret finished.
emma nodded. "well, we haven't found regina anywhere and haven't heard from her."
"so something bad did happen to her," henry exclaimed.
ophelia gave his hand another squeeze.
"we're gonna find her, henry. i promise."
mary margaret seemed deep in thought. "there's only one person who could overpower regina."
"gold," david finished
"he's too busy with his new slash old girlfriend. no, this wasn't Gold. this was tamara," emma theorised.
"haven't you already gone down that road?" mary margaret tried.
