chapter seventeen - it's the end of the world as we know it

ophelia did as she had promised. she accompanied emma to tell henry what had happened and when he cried and held onto his aunt and mom, she rubbed his back and let him do so.

when he finally calmed, they took him back to the apartment to reunite with regina. it lifted his mood slightly as he hugged her tightly.

but the calm was short-lived as the ground shook, and things smashed around the apartment.

ophelia glanced around. "uh, regina, was that—"

she nodded. "yes. the diamond was activated."

"so we're all gonna die," henry voiced.

regina looked down at him, sending him a sad smile, "you were born here, so you'll live."

"but... i'll be alone."

"i'm so sorry."

ophelia watched her nephew closely, hating how small he sounded. "yeah, it's not happening. regina, we're stopping this."

"i can't, there's no way," she told.

"well, figure it out. it's your fault," emma yelled.

"stop!" henry demanded. "i already lost my dad. i don't wanna lose anybody else. we have to work together."

ophelia cursed whoever left the door open as hook walked in.

"from the mouths of babes, i'd say the lad has a point," he spoke, announcing his presence.

"ew, it's you," ophelia muttered.

david wasted no time as he punched him in the face, "that was for the last time we met."

hook raised his hand to his face, "bloody hell."

"my turn," ophelia exclaimed, only to be pulled back by emma. "let me at him! he helped them torture regina. i'm gonna rip out his spleen." she struggled against her sister before david took her place, holding his daughter to the spot, lifting her off the ground so she had less traction to pull herself forward. "let me down you giant! it's no fair using your freakish height to stop me. i'm gonna rip out his kidneys and pull out his nails. if we're gonna die, let him go bleeding and in pain—"

regina raised a brow. "it is so hard to see how she's your daughter sometimes." her eyes flickered from david to snow.

"tell us why you're here before i use something else other than my fist," david threatened, only letting ophelia down when she stopped kicking.

"i think threatening to kill me seems a bit redundant when we're all about to die anyway," hook argued. "besides your daughter is far more intimidating than you. that was very creative love, i have to give you credit for that."
