I remember calling
Once
Hearing your voice was my favorite sound
Like birds singing at 5 am;
A true blessing.
You were busy, so I said I'd call later.
And so i did, and you were still
Busy.
I told you to call me when you're not
And you said okay.
Look at me.
Its been hours and its almost 5 am.
The birds sing, and
I realize your voice is much more
Than this.
You don't need this, do you?
If you did, you'd call by now.
Yet it's 5 in the morning
The sky is pink
And I'm still waiting
For a call that's not gonna happen.
