I called her tonight and said
"look out your window"
I was glancing at the beauty of the sky
Couldn't take my eyes off it.
The sky was clear as it was day
But only dark and
Little fire flies
Somewhere far, far away
Illuminating the deep infinite.
The feeling of equanimity invaded my heart
As I asked her;
"can you not see it?"
She said nothing, but I could feel her smile.
To be sincere, the thought
Of eloping with the night
Has crossed my mind many times
Along with trembles and tingles.
I know her, she would've ran away
Long time ago
If it wasn't for the laws of physics.
She'd be someplace where
The stars waltz, abiding
And the moon is queen forever.
Darkness makes her feel things
Opens doors that are forbidden for unlocking,
Unleashes her biggest enemy -
Her thoughts.
But she's not afraid,
She's long gone.
"take me" she says;
"take you where?"
"to the stars"
...
As a moment of peacefulness lays
I could see her eyes in my reflection
Stargazing.
Her greens shine so bright,
the light is coming from inside her.
She looks at me, as I do the same
And births the prettiest smile
I've ever seen her make.
I stare at her,as she breaks the silence
"I love you" she said
Promptly taking my breath away.
I hear a confession which
I would've found vexing if heard from
Somebody else.
But not her.
I can feel the weight of apprehension
Leaving my chest
As I take a deep breath
Filling every corner of my lungs
With love.
She expressed what I so much chased
The best kind of love
A being could wish for
With no dread, deliberation or foresight.
I thought she was raving
But no delirium would make her do
Such a confession
If it wasn't true.
I feel my eyes zooming out
As a drop of magic rolls down my cheek
And falls in her small palm.
She holds it tight, as a souvenir
To remember this moment, at least for a while,
Until my teardrop dries in her hand.
I look back at this mesmerizing night
And close her eyes.
Now we both see darkness, as we always have.
We made a vow when we were born
And held it ever since;
As she shall be I
Until death does us part.
