I remember that Monday morning
On a chilly August day
I sat down with mom in the kitchen
She was drinking her usual coffee
Lungo, with condensed milk
While i read out
The convo i had with you
The night before.
I was shining, and smiling, the words
Weren't properly coming out of my mouth.
She looked at me all concerned
Didn't know how to tell me something,
As a moment of silence
Laid down in the room.
And then, she said,
"You know you love him,
And probably one day you'll get him,
But it might be one more heartbreak".
My eyes filled with tears,
It was true, and truth hurts.
All the moments we had together
Appeared in front of me
As i blinked, one tear went down
Then the second
And my breaking voice whispered
"I know".
She sat there, listening to me talking
About how i don't believe in fairy tales,
How i desperately want to unlove you...
And how, at the same time, i don't.
"Do you want to cry together?".
...
Just like that, some kitchen
In some silly little town of England
Had two women crying
While drinking coffee
At 10 am.
