Chapter 8-

Neither of the boys were able to sleep much that night, both of their hearts racing and eager for the next day. Richie stayed up most of the night reading comics and deciding on an outfit for the date. Whilst Eddie tossed and turned, trying to sleep for a while.

The next day-

"Eddie-Bear wake up, it's nearly 12 o'clock! You don't want to be late for Stan's!" Sonia exclaimed from downstairs, beginning to line up her sons medicane for him to take with some late breakfast. "Eddie-Bear!"

"Coming mummy." Eddie yelled back, checking his watch he began stumbling around the house getting ready. Shit i'm gunna be late, oh fuck. Dashing downstairs he chugged down his glass of water along with his daily pills. "Thanks for breakfast mummy but Stan's already made lunch, so i'll just eat there. Love you mummy." Kissing the side of her cheek, he instantly thought of Richie's jokes he made, making him smile slightly.

"Okay Eddie-Bear, make sure you wear sunscreen and take your medication tonight!" Sonia smiled, waving her son goodbye and watching him bike down their street with his backpack weighing him down slightly. "Be good!"

Racing down to Richie's as fast as he could, by the time he got there he already had to use his inhaler. Gasping for breath he checked his watch which read 12:10, rapidly knocking on the door he began preparing for Richie's jokes about him being late.

"Hey Ed's, you okay?" Richie beamed, opening the door and kissing the top of Eddie's head. "Ew, why are you all sweaty?"

"Because i overslept and had to rush around so i wasn't late asshole." Eddie pouted, smacking Richie away and stepping indoors.

"Well Eddie Spaghetti, you're still here so don't panic!" Richie laughed, he loved how pedantic his boyfriend was. "Just chuck your bag on the stairs, i want to take you somewhere."

"Okay, where?" Eddie replied, neatly placing his bag on the stairs and turning to meet Richie. "Nowhere dangerous or dirty right?"

"Who do you take me for Ed's? It's our first date, i wan't it to be special." Richie chuckled, grabbing Eddie's hand and lifting the boys chin so he could give him a quick peck on the lips. "Now come on."

Both boys headed out Richie's house, as they began cycling down his street Richie began picking up the pace as they neared the dates destination. "Welcome Ed's to our first date!"

Eddie was shocked at how sweet Richie could actually be. As he tossed his bike onto the floor, Richie grabbed hold of his hand and showed him what he had done. On the top of the hill near the lake the losers always swim in, Richie had set out a picnic for the two. With comics and games for the two to play, along with towels in-case they wanted to go for a swim.

"Fucking hell Rich, who knew you could be this cheesy." Eddie laughed, his cheeks flushed bright red and his eyes were beaming. "This is great Rich, but what if someone see's this all?"

"They won't, nobody come's here except the loser's - it's not exactly the end of the world if one of them finds out. " Richie smiled, holding Eddie's hand and directing him to the blanket on the floor. "So, you like it Ed's?"

"I love it!" Eddie smiled, kissing Richie's lips softly in gratitude. Just as Richie began unpacking the picnic basket Eddie spotted something in there that made his heart melt slightly. "Is that sunscreen and an inhaler?"

"Uhhh--yeah, i mean you left this one at mine ages ago and i know how much your mum goes on about your skin." Richie blushed, he knew Eddie probably had both already with him but it was better to be safe than sorry. "I just brought them just in-case."

"Thanks Rich-" Eddie uttered, his heart was pounding. He loved seeing this side of Richie, it made him want to embrace him forever. As the two began eating the spread Richie had made, Eddie layed on Richie's legs and both of them looked at the clouds above.

"I wish we could stay here forever." Eddie smiled, glancing towards Richie who was now looking down at him.

"In Derry?"

"No idiot, just with you-just you."

"Awww Ed's you are so adorable." Richie smirked, leaning down and placing a gentle kiss on Eddie's forehead. "I agree though, occasionally the other losers can join us too."

"Yeah, do you think we should tell them?" Eddie uttered, slightly worried how Richie may respond. "I mean i know Bev knows, but the others?"

"I mean i'm sure they'll support us and obviously won't tell anybody." Richie replied, they were both worried about telling others but after Bev's wonderful support Richie was a little less concerned. "Do you wan't to?"

"I think i do-" Eddie smiled. "It will save us from hiding it from them atleast, we already have to hide it from everybody else."

"Then we shall tell them Eddie my love." Richie smiled, swiftly picking Eddie up and spinning him in circles. "Oh Eddie my love-"

"RICH YOU PUT ME DOWN NOW!" Eddie yelled, but it was no good, Richie was in his element teasing him. "RICH!"

"Awwww, you love it really Ed's." Richie chuckled, lowering him and panting a little out of breath now. "You're so heavy!"

"Shutup-" Eddie sighed. "Want to go for a swim?"

"Am i hearing this right? Mr Kaspbrak is willing to go in the dirty lake?" Richie laughed, already taking his top off.

"Well it's fucking boiling today so yes!" Eddie stuttered, also taking his t-shirt off. "Besides you brought towels.

Both boys then jumped into the lake together, holding hands. As they swam to the shallow surface, they continued to chat and splash water at one another. The sun shone all day, it was the perfect first date.

"Thanks for today Rich." Eddie smiled.

"Not over yet Ed's." Richie replied. "Still got my lovely cooking to look forward to tonight!"

"Oh god, i'm gunna get food poisoning."

"Hey, i'm like a master chef! You can't insult my cooking!" Richie spat back, ducking under water and lifting Eddie's legs over his shoulders. "If you do you'll get this!" With that, Richie dunked Eddie into the water, causing him to spit and flail about.

"RICH!" Eddie yelled, trying to dunk Richie in but was unable to. "Asshole."

"Come on, let's head back." Richie laughed, as they both swam back to their picnic.
