"Richie..." He replied.
Chapter 31-
The three stared at one another in silence, Eddie felt a wave of humiliation and fear flow hit into him. Unable to control his emotions he stood up suddenly and tried bolting out of the hallway, only to be caught by Wentworth.
"Eddie where are you going?" He asked, surprisingly rather calmly which puzzled Eddie slightly.
"I'm...I'm sorry sir i'm really sorry but i have to go." Eddie blurted, his nerves really were getting the better of him and he began breathing rather heavy.
"Rich come calm him down, come on Eddie come sit down." Wentworth signalled, edging the boy towards Richie who was now standing nervously at the kitchen door. "Deep breaths." As Eddie sat down next to Richie he soon grabbed his inhaler and took a deep breath, glancing at both Richie and his father who both showed expressions he could not yet pin point.
"So... Richie explain." Wentworth sighed, sitting opposite the two.
"Well...Dad, me and Eddie are....." Richie uttered, he was for once in his life at a loss for words. "We are kinda dating."
"Good for you!" Wentworth smiled. "I'm glad you're happy!"
"Wait what?!" Richie gasped, Eddie at this point had dropped his inhaler which was previously grasped around his hand tightly. The two sat there completely stunned. "Really?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't i be?" He laughed. "You two have been at each others hip for years."
"You are really okay with it Sir?" Eddie muttered, glancing briefly at Wentworths face which was still smiling.
"Eddie, i don't know how many time's iv'e said this now but please call me Wentworth." He chuckled back. "Of course i'm okay with it, why wouldn't i be?"
"Dad really? Have you met the people in this town." Richie chuckled, letting out a sigh of relief. Of all the people in Derry he didn't expect his dad to be happy for him and Eddie.
"True, but who cares you guys are clearly very fond of one another and if you're happy then who cares!" He continued, he was always fond of Eddie as was his previous wife mostly due to the face they saw him the most out of the losers but also because of how timid and polite he had always been. "So, you two can both calm down now."
"Thanks Dad, it means a lot." Richie smiled, tears filling his eyes slightly.
"You crying on me now Rich." Wentworth chuckled, passing Richie a tissue and watching Eddie rub his back to comfort him. "Keep an eye on him won't you Eddie."
"Yes Si--i mean Wentworth." Eddie uttered, holding Richie's hand under the table and squeezing it tightly. "I'm really sorry but i have to go now, my mum will kill me if i'm late."
"No problem Eddie, do you want a lift?" Wentworth suggested.
"Thanks but my mum wont like seeing me in someone else's car." Eddie confessed, slightly embarrassed whilst saying this.
"Especially one of us." Richie laughed.
"What do you mean?" Wentworth frowned, looking at his son in confusion. "Does she not like us?"
"It's not that.." Eddie began. "She found out about me a Richie a while ago and was not so accepting."
"I'm sorry to hear that Eddie." Wentworth uttered, he was never a fan of Eddie's mother - always seeing her smother him and control every aspect of his life infuriated him. "You are always welcome here, you know that right?"
