A New Chapter

Chapter 39

Note- I had to write this on my phone so sorry in advance if it is short and shit. I lost a lot of patience with false nails and typing lol. Enjoy:)

"Beep beep Richie!" Eddie laughed, holding the boys hand and pulling him towards the edge of the cliff before the two jumped. 

Chapter 39-

It had been a few days, it was Eddie's birthday and he was schedualed to leave the day after. He planned on telling Sonia his plans on staying after his birthday, he didn't want to do anything to ruin his big day. It was bad enough his mother had made him stay for the day to see his Auntie and wear a formal suit. It was a long, tedious day but the time had finally come to see those who meant the most to him.

"Please behave EddieBear, you're lucky enough I'm letting you stay with them children tonight." Sonia sighed, adjusting Eddie's tie and tightening his fanny pack around his waist.

"I will mummy! I'm 18 now!" Eddie insisted, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before waving her off and hopping on his bike. Racing his way down to Richie's his mind soon began to rest, it was only when he was around the losers that he could truly relax (well, unless one of them hurts themselves by doing something stupid). "Richie, hey!" Eddie smiled as the boy opened the door. 

"Spagetti! 18 At last, finally a minature adult!" Richie chuckled, grabbing the boys hands and pulling him into a quick kiss on the cheek. "You know i can legally fu-"

"Don't even finish that sentence." Eddie scowled, trying to hide the small smile forming on his face. "So, where we going to eat?" 

"Ah, about that." Richie winked. "I lied about that, the group aren't going for a meal because we're going to Mike's barn again, you know like old times." 

"Richie i love that idea but i'm starving." Eddie chuckled, his stomach grumbling slightly. 

"Don't worry babe, Ben and Bev have prepared some food for us all and taken it down there already. Everyone's there, just us left." Richie smiled. "But, i want to give you something first..." Without hesitation the boy swiftly turned around and grabbed hold of a small present, before handing it over to Eddie. "Open it then!" Ever so carefully the boy began peeling the paper away, to reveal two small rings inside with half of a heart of each to make a whole one when joined together. "You see, its like a promise ring. I thought incase for some reason we are ever apart, we'll always have these to join us back together..." Richie blushed, looking down at the rings. 

"I love them." Eddie smiled, passing Richie a ring and placing the other one on his finger before grabbing the boy and hugging him tightly. "I love you Chee." 

"I love you too Ed's." Richie uttered into the boys ear. "Now come on, lets have a night we'll never forget!" 

Cycling their way to Mikes the rest of the group prepared the lights and banners, everything was set up ready for the birthday boy. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDDIE!" They all cheered as the two entered the barn. Eddie was shocked by the amount of effort the group had put into the decoration. 

"Thanks everyone." Eddie blushed, slightly overwhelmed by it all. After opening his presents (which mainly consisted of money, food and a drawing from Stan) and eating the food Bev and Ben prepared the group soon began to pour the drinks. 

"To our Eddie!" Richie laughed, as everyone held their glasses up and began to drink. 

"I can't drink guys, i have to tell my mum that i want to stay in Derry tomorrow..." Eddie sulked. 

"Fuck that Eddie, it's your birthday!" Bev replied, passing the boy the rest of her drink. "Look, she said you have to be back before lunch, so we can get drunk and just set an alarm for 11?" 

"Yeah, B...Bev's right E...Eddie, today is y...your day." Bill smiled, trying to encourage the boy to let loose for the night. Both Mike and Stan nodded in agreement. 

"Yeah, you guys are right." Eddie agreed, downing the rest of Bev's drink and insisting Richie make him another drink. 

"He grows up so fast." Richie smiled, pretending to wipe a tear from his cheek as he began making the boy another drink. 

"Oh shutup Richie." Eddie chuckled, nudging the boy as the others laughed. 

It had been 3 hours, all members of the group had agreed to drink tonight as it was a special occasion and they were all now 18. Both Ben and Mike had once again passed out, with Bev snuggled next to Ben also drifting off. Stan and Bill had made their way to the tents to relax and sober up a little outside, leaving Eddie and Richie alone together and very drunk. 

"I feel like we've turned back time and we're reliving the night we had here 3 years ago." Richie chuckled, with Eddie laying on his lap in the barn. 

"Yeah, but atleast we can hold our drinks a bit better now." Eddie laughed, remember their embarrassing moments together when they had previously had a few too many to drink. 

"I dunno Ed's, your cheeks are looking pretty rosy there." Richie smirked, pinching the boys cheeks. 

"You know i hate it when you do that!" Eddie blurted, blushing even more than he already was. "I can handle my drink!" 

"Hmm, okay sure sure." Richie winked, rubbing the boys head playfully. But soon noticed the boys mood shifted slightly. "You good down there?" 

"Just a bit worried about tomorrow." Eddie sighed, leaning his head to face Richie. "I don't want to leave Derry."

"I know, but my dad said he will talk to your mum and i'll be there the whole time." Richie smiled, he too was also nervous but there was no way he'd ever tell Eddie that. "It's going to be fine, besides we're going to University soon like proper grown ups!" 

"Ugh i don't want to be a grown up." Eddie chuckled. 

"Eddie, you're basically like a small mum now!" Richie laughed. "University will be great and then we can buy a house and get a dog an-"

"You've thought all of this through?" Eddie uttered. 

"Of course!" Richie smiled. "I love thinking about what we'll be doing when we're older." 

"I love you Richie." Eddie smiled, nuzzling into Richie's lap.

"I love you too birthday boy."
