Honeymaren began to stir at the scent of bacon in the air. She blinked sleep from her eyes and found herself underneath blankets and pressed against Elsa. Elsa seemed to still be asleep, she should be after last night. Maren looked under the covers to confirm her suspicions, she had no clothes and this was not her tent. She sighed and pulled herself up with arms. She leaned over Elsa and popped a kiss on the blonde's lips.
"Elsa," she whispered,"Elsa it's time to wake up." Elsa protested with groans and grunts, but eventually caved and began to stir.
"When did we get here?" She asked, rubbing her eyes.
"We walked back last night. We also forgot my swimsuit at the hotspring."
"That's okay you can borrow something from me."
"No I know that, I mean I left it at the pool. On the ground, where someone could find it."
"Oh. Oh no. Okay, um.. let's get changed, you distract people outside I will sprint and go grab it." Elsa reassured.
"Okay," Honeymaren replied with unease. Elsa wrapped herself in one of the blankets and went to a trunk at the back of the tent, tossing clothes to Honeymaren who put them on, pretending not to notice Elsa staring. Elsa put on her usuall light blue pantsuit with a motion of her hand and gave Honeymaren a nod, letting her know she was ready. Elsa watched as Honeymaren crept out of the tent, no doubt trying to avoid looks from the neighbours. She likes... this. Us. But she is having a hard time blending into this society. She's not quite sure if she fits in here. Distracted by her thoughts, Elsa almost missed her cue to leave. She heard Honeymaren grasping at conversation and Elsa took this moment to slip out of the dent and dash into the forest. She could feel the release of her stress as her feet lifted from the ground with each step. She would've broke into a vocal laughter had she not heard voices up ahead.
"Look there!"
"What is it?"
"Looks like lakewear, someone must've lost it."
Children? Just when I thought this couldn't be more awkward.
"Is it wet?"
"It's damp."
"Should we take it back?"
"What else would we do with it?"
"We could just walk away and pretend we never saw it."  Elsa crosses her fingers, praying the other children would take the idea.
"No Daylynn is right, we should take it back." Elsa sighed in disappointment, looks like she's gonna have to do this the hard way.  She took a deep breath and stepped onto the stone ground by the hotspring. The ground was warmer then she remembered it being, but at least she wasn't standing in dirt anymore.
"Oh hey guys," she said, acting as if she hadn't been listening to their conversation. On of the kids bowed, getting him a punch to the shoulder from one of the other kids.
"She's not a queen anymore," the child said. Elsa ignored the encounter and instead pointed to the garments one of the children had on a stick.
"Hey, I recognize those. I know who they belong to, I should return them." Elsa said, trying her hardest to not let them sense her fear.
"Oh, whose are they?" The girl asked, pointing the stick toward Elsa so she could grab the clothes.
"Oh there... Honeymaren's." really Elsa?
"How did she loose them?" Are children always this inquisitive? Leave me alone child.
"Oh well... hmmm. Oh I know, I got her new ones as a gift so she changed out of those ones and put on the new ones."
"Oh. Why'd you get her a gift?" Oh my god.
"You know... because I wanted to."
"Okay. We'll see you later, Elsa." Thankful the children were leaving now, Elsa waved them a farewell before starting the trek back to the camp. She walked, relieved that it didn't get any worse. I wonder if they know about me and Honeymaren? How many of the people here actually know? And did they tell their kids? Elsa didn't have an answer for her questions, but in all honesty she didn't expect it to bother her much. But for some reason it did, she didn't know if she wanted people to know or if she didn't.  I thought I was done with the confusing feelings. Nearing the tree line she made eye contact with Maren and attempted a wink, her attempt ended in failure, but the relaxed look on Maren's face let her know the point had been made. As she reached her tent to put the clothes in someone called to her from behind.
"Elsa!" Like a reindeer caught in a sandstorm she remained still, clutching the Northuldran clothes in her hands.
"Ryder..." she said sheepishly.
"Hey Elsa. I was just wondering if we could talk, you know you and me?"
"Oh... um sure?"
"Great! Okay, um I'll let you finish doing what you're doing, meet me at the rock path when your ready." Ryder ran off and Elsa threw the clothes in the tent. Honeymaren came up to her with her arms crossed, a subtle smile on her face. The same suggestive smile that Elsa had seen the night before, under much different circumstances.
"How'd the operation go?" Honeymaren asked.
"It went good, I had to fend off some children with pointy sticks for a while, but they ran in fear when they met snowball." Honeymaren laughed and hooked her arms with Elsa.
"So.." she started. "Ryder was talking to me when you were gone and he wants to talk to you about... Arendelle."
"Okay, he told me to meet him at the rock path."
"I saw that, Elsa please just...." Elsa pulled away, this time crossing her arms.
"Just what? Don't over react?!" Elsa said angrily.
"No! Well yes... but I was going to say go easy on him. I just want this whole thing to be over, the last thing I need is for the two most important people in my life to be fighting." Elsa nodded, reluctantly, but agreed to Honeymaren's terms nonetheless. Truth is, she hadn't gotten over Ryder's actions, under any circumstances they were uncalled for. And how he just ran away. Elsa couldn't fathom what would have become of here if Anna had run from her instead of following her to the ice palace.  She had been waiting for her opportunity to chew Ryder out, but Honeymaren had made it clear that it wasn't her place and Elsa respected that.
"I won't hurt him, or make things worse. I just want things to be good for us, like last night." Honeymaren blushed and gave Elsa a small kiss on the lips.
"Well don't keep him waiting. And don't forget to report back to me."
"Haha, who knows maybe Ryder and I will be besties after this and you'll be third wheeling."
"Oh really," Honeymaren joked, pulling Elsa close to her by her waist. "I don't think being friends with Ryder has the same benefits as being friends with me."
"Oh well that's blackmail," Elsa laughed, kissing Honeymaren.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures.0 Honeymaren landed one last kiss before pushing Elsa away in dramatic effort to keep the role play going. "Now don't keep my brother waiting. And remember, be nice."  Elsa blew Honeymaren a kiss as she ran across the the camp and disappeared in the forest. Despite all of the good, Honeymaren could help but be afraid of what was going to happen in that conversation. Elsa and Ryder were both very protective people, especially when it came to Honeymaren. She just hoped they could use that as common ground to build their relationship on.
