Honeymaren hadn't let go of Elsa's hand since they had set sail. Despite protests from her stomach she refused to leave her girlfriend's side. Arendelle's best healers tending to her, they swore to Honeymaren that she was okay, but Honeymaren knew better. The troll had said it was incurable by regular people.
"Elsa... if I could help you... I would do it in an instant." The world needed Elsa, and The thought of it without the ice Queen was terrifying. Lost in thought, Honeymaren missed the girl standing in front of her seeking her attention.
"Hello? Miss?"
"What? Oh sorry."
"I get it. You the sister?" Honeymaren started at the girl blankly. Am I the sister? Does she not see... "I'm kidding," the stranger said, crossing her arms.
"Oh. Um I'm sorry, I'm Honeymaren."
"Kassandra." Kassandra had short ash brown hair that was long on the top but short on the sides. She had an accent Honeymaren couldn't quite place, but it sounded European. The girl was definitely muscular, much more so than Honeymaren.
"She's your girl right?"
"Um, yeah."
"Well how about I look after her for a few minutes while you go get something to eat?"
"Did Anna send your?"
"No. The snowman did." Honeymaren saw Olaf hide behind a barrel at the mention of his name. Honeymaren thought about it for a moment, before ultimately reaching the conclusion that being weak and starving wouldn't benefit Elsa in anyway. Besides, Olaf wouldn't let this down.
"Okay."
"There's grub in the second floor, believe it or not it's fish tonight."
"Okay, um, thanks..."
"Kassandra."
"Right, thanks again." Honeymaren left the captains quarters and crossed the Galleons top deck to the stairs. Under different circumstances she would have marvelled at the idea that the ship had a second floor, but she just wanted to eat and get back to Elsa. I wonder where Anna is, usually she doesn't leave Elsa's side, even when Elsa's not dying. Don't do that. Don't say dying, she's not dying. Living has just been... delayed? Oh my god. Honeymaren made sure to walk around obstacles-people, barrels filled with supplies and surprisingly- a dog. The table was almost empty, a couple of the sailors were finishing some drinks, they looked relaxed, almost too relaxed. Honeymaren couldn't help but wonder how tired they must be. She hadn't thought about the toll managing a ship must take on a person. She assumed the person behind a small counter was the chef, so she walked up to it and waited to be noticed.
"Ah, you must be 'Maren. Ma friend Olaf here told me to expect you. I got you a plate ready. The man slid over a plate with roasted rabbit.
"I thought it was fish?"
"For the others, I hear your a first-time sailor. You ain't got your sea legs yet honey, fried Salmon would do nothing for your nausea." Truthfully, Honeymaren hadn't even noticed she was nauseous until now. It explained how tired she had been since getting on the boat- and her reluctance to eat.
"Thank you," she smiled and the chef turned back to dish duty. She nibbles at the very well cooked rabbit until a familiar voice sounded behind her.
"Hey," Olaf said as he pulled himself onto the stool next to her.
"Hi Olaf."
"I'm sorry you are feeling down."
"About the first good thing that ever happened to me dying or my sea sickness?"
"Both."
"Thanks."
"I'm scared too," Olaf confessed. "If Elsa... if we can't heal her then I... I will die too and I just learned what popping the cherry means." Honeymaren almost spit out her drink. "I want to pop the cherry. Do you know what that is?" Honeymaren didn't know how to respond so she just didn't. "It's when everyone's happy and they have a party and you have a champagne bottle and the lid goes flying off!" Relieved she didn't have to have a health lesson from Olaf, she smiled.
"Sounds like fun."
"It does..."
"Olaf I'm sorry. I've been so caught up on how this is going to affect me I've forgotten everyone else. I mean, if she... if she doesn't pull through we will loose you too and that... it's just so unfair." Olaf looked at her solemnly.
"You know I never thought I would have so many friends, but look at me now, surrounded by all my friends. All the people who will remember Elsa, and me, when we're gone."
"Olaf there's still time. You could have many years left."
"I know.. but since I've been spending so much time around people I've learned to read their faces. I can tell when it doesn't look good. The odds are against us."
"The odds have been against us before and we've beaten them." The two of them smiled half heartedly. Rumblings from Honeymaren's gut had killed her appetite, and frankly this chat had killed her mood more than it already was.
"I'm going to get back to Elsa." Honeymaren walked off, Olaf's gaze followed her as she left.
"Anna are you okay?" Kristoff yelled through a wooden door. Being on the ship had exhausted both of them, but it was making Anna very sick, a woman in her condition was in no shape to sail.
"Yeah I'll be al—" Anna was cut off by another bout of vomiting. Kristoff pulled himself away from the door and collapsed on the bottom bunk. Sven nuzzled up to him and weasled his nose under Kristoff's arm so Kristoff would have to pet him.
"Oh Sven. I don't know what to do. Elsa is... she's something special. Especially to Anna. If Elsa doesn't pull through Anna... it might... it might kill her." Sven let out a sad groan and Kristoff sunk his face deeper into the pillow. "Things were just so... perfect. Now this. With Anna being so... involved in everything I'm worried about her. She should be at home, resting, eating healthy. Ruling a kingdom on the side." Sven nodded in agreement before setting his head to rest on the floor. From the sounds of it, the vomiting has stopped so Kristoff made an effort to get off his bunk and go back to the door. "Anna?" He called. No answer. The door swayed open again, apparently it hadn't been locked. Kristoff slowly pushed it open revealing a sobbing Anna , sitting on the dusty floor, in a pool of blood.
