LEVI IS CONVINCED SOMETHING IS OFF. The interrogations between the three people on the yacht match just enough to not ring any alarms, but the slight differences in the way they recount their stories makes her feel tense.

"Something can't be right here," Levi declares under her breath, her chin resting on her fist. She leans forward in Seonghwa's creaky dining room chair, tuning in to the tape recorder on the table.

Levi doesn't have to look up to know Seonghwa disagrees with her deduction, the sound of his foot taping against the wood ricocheting off of the walls. "What is so difficult to understand? That Wooyoung kid was the last person with her. He's most likely the criminal."

She hates how he speaks at her like she is a naive child, but she forces any shallow retorts to die on her tongue. There is not any time to argue with Officer Park. He is her way into the police department, a spy into its innerworkings.

She squints at him. "No. Listen, you can practically hear him pissing his pants as he answers these questions."

When Seonghwa opens his mouth to object, she quickly continues. "Besides, we don't even have a full timeline of events. Even if we did, how would this Wooyoung guy literally rip this poor girl's molar out? What about a motive? There is not enough information to say anything for sure yet."

Seonghwa does not have a response other than to blink, and Levi figures she must be at least a little bit right. A small amount of pride swells in her chest.

"Play the next one," he murmurs a little quieter, now focused on the details of the case, the oddities gleaming like glass in the sunlight. Levi obeys, pressing a button for them to listen to Margot Acosta's interview.

"What were you and Mr. Westwood doing while Mr. Jung was with Ms. Hillman?" asks detective Graves, her voice notably lighter than it was when she was interviewing Wooyoung.

"We were at the bar having a few drinks and sharing some laughs. I remember they were prepared really well, the guy was a pro or something, and we joked about that."

Margot Acosta's words fade into silence for a moment, only to return in a thin, raspy voice a few seconds later. "After that, they left together. We knew Wooyoung had a crush on Jodi and that she didn't feel the same way, so we figured he was going to get rejected and that would be it. I didn't know we wouldn't see her again."

"Is there anything that leads you to believe that Mr. Jung could be dangerous?"

Margot hesitates.

"Well, a joke came up about making fireworks with Jodi and he got very upset. First time I ever saw him that mad really. Like I know he grew up poor or whatever, but I guess I wasn't expecting that, he seemed unhinged. Plus I mean, he did run away. Isn't that like a red flag?"
