Chapter Fourteen: Dinner

Lily's POV

Of course, on the car ride to the restaurant my phone was going crazy, and I eventually got sick of feeling it buzzing all the time so I decided to check it.

Look, me and Mads were just hanging out as friends, I swear.

And seriously? It was just a kiss? You mean that?

Can we talk about this?

I rolled my eyes, releasing a deep sigh which seemed to earn Payton's attention as he grabbed my hand in his own, placing them both in the middle of the seats which made me smile. Faith was sat in the passenger seat and Joanne was driving, obviously.
"What's up?" Payton whispered, his thumb rubbing circles on my hand which I actually found comforting.
I turned around, making eye contact with him as I replied, also in a whisper, "Mads was in Jaden's room."
His eyes went wide at that, and his jaw seemed to lock up, signalling he was angry.
"It's okay though. I'm fine." I told him softly, trying to calm him down as I squeezed his hand.
"What are you two lovebirds whispering about?" Joanne chimed in, making Payton and I look at each other with wide eyes and silly grins forming as our cheeks began to turn pink.
"Nothing important, Joanne."
She hummed disbelievingly in response, making both Payton and I laugh.

Yes, I meant what I said. Two lips touching doesn't warrant loyalty, you can do whatever you want, I don't care. No, we can't talk about this, I'm busy

I then proceeded to put my phone on silent, shoving it back in my purse before taking Payton's hand back in mine.

After eating dinner and dessert, I was stuffed and exhausted, and so was Payton, whom was resting his head on the table.

During dinner, it had became evident that Joanne and Faith shipped Payton and I, which was really quite funny to the pair of us.

I released a quiet yawn before placing my head on Payton's, who was quite comfortable. My actions made Joanne, Faith and Payton laugh a bit, Joanne taking her phone out and taking a picture of it.

"Send that to me?" Asked Payton, and of course Joanne did. It was quite a cute photo, so I asked him to send it to me too.

I added Lorens number before joining Payton in bed, him being the little spoon as we cuddled which was actually kinda cute.
