Lily's POV

Anthony invited me to lunch. It was weird, but I figured I needed to face my problems at some point in life.

I'd stayed at Payton's for three days straight, just joking around and watching movies, y'know, the good stuff, but I had to go back to the Sway house eventually, and what better way to ease into it than breakfast with a friend?

I grabbed everything that was mine, that I could see, and shoved them into a rucksack before putting on one of Payton's hoodies and jogging bottoms again.
"I don't want you to go." Whined Payton, pulling me back into bed with him which made me giggle.
"Payt, we can literally hang out together whenever you want, okay? You know I have to go home." I told him softly, pushing his brown locks out of his face gently.
He rolled his eyes, groaning, "I hate when you're right." Which only made me laugh a bit more.
"I know you do. But seriously, Ant is gonna be here soon, I gotta go. Message me, okay? I wuv you." I told him, hesitantly placing a soft kiss on his forehead which seemed to cheer him up.
"Okay. I wuv you too."

I giggled to myself as I let myself out of his room, saying goodbye to Joanne before leaving the house completely.

Now, I had agreed to meet Anthony for breakfast, so when the familiar black Jeep that I knew belonged to Jaden pulled up, you could probably imagine my surprise. The window rolled down to reveal Jaden, crushing any hope I actually had of seeing Anthony. Y'know, like maybe Anthony had just borrowed Jaden's jeep for whatever reason? Nope. It was all a set-up.

"You just gonna stand there?" Jaden asked, his tone sounding a little harsher than what I was used to, but I didn't care.
I shrugged, folding my arms over my chest.
"Maybe. It depends, what are you doing here?"
"Anthony asked me to pick you up, he's hosting some kinda lunch thing for everyone." He carelessly replied, shrugging too.
Fine. Well fuck Anthony I guess. And you.

I rolled my eyes, releasing a deep sigh as I pulled my rucksack off of my back and walked round to the passenger side of the jeep, throwing my rucksack in before practically jumping in (because, y'know, short problems).

I landed in the passenger seat with a huff, slamming the door closed before putting on my seatbelt.
"Really? You're in a mood already?"
"Fuck off, Jaden."
He sighed deeply as he rolled his eyes, starting to drive. I'd already got my license, I just hadn't actually gotten round to buying a car in America- I had one in England though. I made a mental note to buy myself a car, preferably sooner rather than later.

We spent about ten minutes in silence, before Jaden tried to talk to me again.
"How long are you gonna keep this act up for?" He questioned, making me furrow my brows as I looked at him, though he was still focused on the road.
"What act?"
"This act. The whole 'I don't care' act that you've started up again." He obviously stated, and I shook my head in denial.
"It's not an act. I mean it, I don't care what you do. Why should I-"
"Don't start with this bullshit, Lil-"
"It's not bullshit, Jay!" I mimicked, scoffing at the end of my sentence. I did care, of course I cared, but he didn't need to know that.

"I'm just asking you to talk to me. I know you're upset with me, and yeah you kinda have a right to be, I'd be pissed too if roles were reversed, but I swear Mads and I were just hanging out as friends. We were friends before we dated, and we agreed we'd be friends after." He told me, his tone suddenly smooth and soft which actually calmed me down a bit, despite me not wanting it to.
"Yeah, well, like I said, I don't care."
He shook his head as he sarcastically chuckled, stopping at a red light so he turned to face me.
"Is there something going on with you and Payt?"
My brows furrowed, giving him an off look before my lips tugged into a smirk.
"You're jealous."
"Yeah, no shit. Because unlike you, I can admit that kinda thing. Because to me, that kiss wasn't 'just' a kiss." He told me, scoffing slightly at the end of his sentence and I suddenly fell silent. I hadn't expected him to actually be honest about it, and the fact he had took me back more than I liked to admit.
I quickly looked around, taking in our surroundings.
"Where are we going?"
"To the mall. Anthony thought it'd be a fun day out for everyone to talk." Jaden replied, still sounding moody.
