Lily's POV

I unlocked the door to the Sway house, let myself in and locked it again before walking into the living room. I was going to go to Jaden's room, remembering that he wanted to talk, but surprisingly found him alone in the kitchen. This was weird for a few reasons: firstly, Jaden was always hanging out with someone unless he was in his own room, secondly, the house was quiet, so where were the guys? And lastly, I didn't actually remember the last time Jaden had cooked without someone helping him.

Quietly and curiously, I made my way into the kitchen, watching as he struggled with whatever was in the pan ontop of the stove. Finally, I cleared my throat, earning his attention as he jumped away from the pan and his head snapped to me, a look of fear and shock on his face which was quickly replaced with a shy smile when he saw that it was just me.
"H-hey, Lil." He stuttered adorably over his greeting, which I found odd since he hadn't been so nervous around me in a while, but I shrugged it off, knowing that calling someone out for being nervous only made them worse.

"Hey, Jay. Whatcha doing?" I wondered, looking over his shoulder a little, trying to see what he was cooking, but my attention was quickly drawn back to the cute blonde boy infront of me, his green eyes meeting my own hazel blue ones as he offered me a kind but still nervous smile, his hand coming up to rub the back of his neck. "Um, I'm making us dinner, or... y'know, trying to."He replied, grimacing at the end as he looked back at the now overflowing pan. "Shit!" He seethed, quickly taking the pan off of the stove as I withheld the urge to giggle simply at his cuteness, though I did wonder why he was being so sweet. Had he done something wrong? And trying to make-up for whatever it was before I found out?

Jaden isn't like that. I reminded myself, remembering how I'd had the same thoughts when we first met.

Jaden grumbled a few profanities under his breath as he rushed the pan to the sink and filled it with water, making steam bellow out of it as it hissed. I hesitantly made my way over to Jaden, who looked ever so mad with himself, so I placed my hand on his arm in what I hoped was a comforting way.

"How about we do it together instead? I think that would be more fun." I softly suggested, making him look up from the sink with a small smile tugging at his lips.
"Really?" He questioned unsurely and I nodded confidently, a small grin forming on my own face.
"Of course!" I excitedly exclaimed, quickly pecking his cheek before making my way to a set of cupboards to grab a pot, Jaden following a little behind me and taking them from me when I handed them to him.
"So, what are we making?" I asked, taking my phone out of my back pocket so I could Google a recipe if needed.
"Um, just Mac and cheese... I remembered  it's your favourite so..." The boy nervously trailed off, making me giggle a little bit, though couldn't help the slight surprise that I felt because he'd remembered that, since it had only ever came up in conversation once or twice. I Googled a simple recipe for Mac and cheese and put my phone on the counter for us both to look at as of when we needed it.

After that Jaden took the pot and put some water in it, leaving it on the stove to boil for the Mac. Then we started on the sauce, grabbing another pot from the cupboard and putting in some milk, butter and gradually adding flour whilst also on the stove.

"Jay?" The boy, whom was hugging me from behind, hummed in response which vibrated a little on my shoulder. "Can you stir this whilst I go and grate the cheese?"

He, of course, agreed and took over whilst I went to grate the cheese. When I had done that I placed the grated cheese to his right side before now putting the mac into the boiling water, adding a little salt to it too.
