It was time for the school assembly and so Jung Kook, Nam Joon and Tae Hyung all walk with you to the main auditorium. You are caught up in your thoughts, as you tend to be, and you wonder about the men who are with you right now...
Where have I seen them before? Why do they look so familiar?
You rack your brains trying to remember as you walk towards the teachers' seats in the hall. You look around you at the curved rows of students all sat on blue velvet cushioned chairs. Each row is raised by a step so the main stage can be seen clearly by everyone. You sit in the front row and see that Nam Joon and Tae Hyung don't join you. Then you remember that they are Heads of House and so they've gone to sit with their students.
You recall again what the induction pack said about the four Houses:
Tae Hyung is Head of LYH - its shield is bright white with a flower in each of its four corners. The marigold, rose, lily and forget-me-not all represent purity, love, passion, creativity.
Nam Joon is Head of MOTS which has a dark pink shield with a white heart embossed on it. It is the symbol of joy and following a steadfast path.
Yoongi is Head of LYT whose black shield has simple pale pink lines etched down the middle and around. It represents resilience through life's struggles.
Master Jung Ho Seok, whom you have yet to meet, doesn't appear to be sitting with his students in House LYA. Its shield is violet and white which symbolise strength and acceptance.
You notice that there is no teacher sitting with House LYA students and wonder where Master Ho Seok is. Jung Kook also seems to have disappeared and you are left with unfamiliar faces.
Your thoughts are interrupted by applause as Vice Principal Lenzo appears on stage, mic in hand. "Teachers and students of BigHit Academy, welcome to a new school year! As per our custom, I will say a few words......"
You don't hear the rest as you suddenly become aware of someone's gaze on you. You look to your right and see piercing green eyes watching you. You become unnerved, but jolt back to reality when you hear your name.
"......Madam Min is our new Evil Sorcery Defence teacher, please stand up Madam Min!"
Nervously you stand up and bow to the teachers and students.
Quick, sit down and don't look at that guy again, you tell yourself. And don't look so nervous, you're an ESD teacher for goodness sake!
With a quick shake of the head, you stare ahead and concentrate on VP Lenzo.
"Now, please put your hands together for our alumni boys TXT and their special 'start of year' performance!" VP Lenzo introduces excitedly.
For the next 10 minutes you are treated to an exhilarating performance by TXT who dance with tightly-choreographed moves whilst belting out "Anpanman", "Dallye Dallye", "Not Today", "Dope" and finally ending with "MIC Drop".
That explosion of music brings back a lot of memories and you now remember where you've seen Nam Joon, Tae Hyung, Jung Kook and Yoongi. They were BTS of course, that world-famous pop group, who took the globe by storm in their heyday. As it all comes back to you, you scan the hall to look for the remaining three members. You turn behind and see someone coming (bouncing to be more accurate) from the back of the hall towards a group of students; presumably, he was Ho Seok. That left Seok Jin and Ji Min. You look to your left expecting to see those two seated with you in the front row and soon recognise Seok Jin as he's the one blowing air kisses to those around him. You smile as you realise some things never change.
Nobody else on the left, so you look right to find Park Ji Min, but you get that un-nerving feeling again. Those green eyes looking ahead, and full head of silver hair. Was that him? Come on Rumi, yes that must be Ji Min, now focus back on VP Lenzo. But why are you finding it so hard to take your eyes away from him?
VP Lenzo is introducing Principal Bang (someone in the distance shouts "Haha, The Big Bang!")........."Yes, thank you for that, Master Jeon".
Your eyes are still transfixed to Park Ji Min.......then without warning, he looks at you.
