The only difference between your lockets is that his is made of white gold, while yours is rose gold. You both look at each other, wondering the same thing. "How...." you start, "When...." he says at the same time. You both laugh, glad to break the tension.

Ji Min speaks first, "Like you, my Amma gave it to me when I was a child. I did some research on our family history, as you may have guessed, and it's said that only two of these ever existed. I never thought I'd meet the other owner, let alone become friends with her?" he asks hopefully.

You smile shyly and examine your locket. It's not a conventional-looking one with a clasp opening into two parts. It is flat with intricate engravings on it that feel smooth to the touch. Now that you think about it, its design looks incomplete on its own.

"Ji Min," you ask, taking off your locket and showing it to him, "don't you think our 'lockets' look like two halves of one?"

Ji Min holds them both over each other, ponders for a few moments, and flicks his head. "You know what, they do! Our families must have passed these down through the generations to our mothers, who eventually gave them to us. Well, we could definitely use all the help we can get."

As you absorb the significance of both lockets being a perfect fit, Ji Min gets up from his chair. "Rumi, it's getting late, we should probably call it a day. Thank you for coming to see me and telling me about everything." Running his right hand through his hair, he holds onto the top of his chair with the other, suddenly looking very drained.

You stand up quickly and walk towards the door, "Of course Ji Min, it's a lot to take in and you must still be weak from, you know, your episode. I'll follow up with Nam Joon and see what he says we should do. I'm sure he'll call us together for a meeting soon."

You lay your hand on the door handle, hesitating for a moment, and then turn around to say, "We're all here for you Ji Min, so don't carry this all on your shoulders. We will share the burden," you pause again, almost apologising for touching his face earlier, but then decide against it. The incident was embarrassing enough without having to bring it up again. "Good night then," you say instead, closing the door behind you.

You stand outside wondering whether there is another reason why he wanted you to leave? Anyway, it's a relief to get the difficult conversation out of the way, made easier by the fact he already knew about his father. Suddenly you get a pang of anxiety, but you can't work out why. That's never a good sign, you think, as you walk back to your room.

Three days pass by without incident or progress. You sometimes have lunch with Seok Jin and Jung Kook, give respectful nods to Nam Joon when you see him, talk to Ho Seok during your free periods, make minimal eye contact with Yoongi and sometimes admire Tae Hyung's flexibility when he practises yoga in the field. "You should join me sometime! It's such a stress buster!" he proclaims, but you skilfully excuse yourself each time (those moves look like stress boosters, not busters). Even though you've seen the guys, none of them has fresh news to share, so you wait for Nam Joon's further instructions. You decide to give Ji Min some space; he has a lot to process, you don't want to be a distraction to him and you are not yourself when you're with him. You avoid asking the guys about him and generally avoid the Life Spells classroom. Besides, you hadn't even told him about the part of the prophecy which said a woman would be strongly involved in his future. Could it really be you?

You don't realise it, but recently you've been touching your locket more often these days. "Madam Min, that locket's really pretty!", a student exclaims one day in class. "It looks really familiar though. Where have I seen it before? (you hold your breath) Wait, did you buy it at the marketplace?" she asks.

Thank goodness, and breathe. "Yes, I think I did, it's a fairly common design. Now get back to work and don't call out again unless you want to help the caretaker after school!" you reply, your quick wit to the rescue.

Just as the lesson is about to end, Ho Seok pokes his head through your door. "Madam Min, when you've dismissed the class, Master Kim Nam Joon would like to see you in his room," he says and leaves as quickly as he came.

"Oooooh, Madam Min! Master Kim wants to see you......" one boy starts.

"In his room....." another follows.

You look over calmly in their direction, one eyebrow raised, without emotion, "I'm happy for you to join me and on the way, we can see if your Head of House, Master Min, is keen to talk to you."

With that, the class is quiet; wit and Yoongi to the rescue this time.
