During the time that you've been talking to and walking with Ji Min, the cave has slowly become narrower and darker. You find yourselves dipping your heads slightly as the ceiling gets lower the further you go in. It is eerily quiet, which you find very disconcerting. You spend the next few minutes walking in silence, lost in your own thoughts. Now would be a great time for Yoongi to be able to read my mind, you muse. You walk in very close proximity to Ji Min, your fingers still entwined.
Suddenly Ji Min stops walking. "Rumi, I can see something! I think there's a glimmer of light coming from there," he says, pointing diagonally ahead to his right. You squint to see where he's pointing at. He's right, there is a tiny dot of light about 100 feet away.
You both walk towards the source of that light, and after some careful manoeuvring (the ground is still wet), you find yourselves standing in front of a large pool of clear water in the middle of a dimly lit alcove. You scan the area starting from your right and soon see a figure crouching at the edge of the other side of the pool. You let out a soft gasp; you recognise the person. Ji Min quickly turns to you to look at you enquiringly and then follows your gaze.
"It can't be," you say, "Why, that looks like....."
"Uncle Hak Kun," Ji Min finishes your sentence for you. Instinctively, he immediately pulls you into the shadows so you're both out of Hak Kun's sight.
"How did he get here?" you ask.
"I'm more curious about why he is here," Ji Min answers.
"What is he doing? He looks like he's collecting water in something. Should we call out to him?" you ask, although you know that's probably not a good idea.
"No, I think we should follow him instead, and see where he goes," is the reply you get.
You nod in agreement and watch Hak Kun closely. It's odd to see him without his usual gardening gear and garb. He is dressed in a burgundy cloak with the hood down and is now slowly getting up, taking care not to spill the contents of the goblet which is being held securely in his hands. You watch him, curious to know why he's here and what he's doing right now. Surely he's not........?
He softly gets up and walks towards the opposite end of the alcove, away from you and Ji Min. You both quick-step behind him, trying to close the gap, but at the same time keeping to the shadows to avoid being seen. You're so focused on keeping Hak Kun in your sights that you don't have time to note your surroundings. A few minutes later, you follow him to a corridor with around five or six arched open entrances on either side and a dead end in front. Hood now pulled over his head, he quickly turns left. After a three-second pause, you both run and follow suit, but immediately stop dead in your tracks.
You are greeted by a room full of hooded beings, their backs turned to you, all standing facing someone who appears to be giving them a sermon. Your entry into the room and subsequent abrupt halting have grabbed his attention. He stops talking and gazes in your direction. Slowly, he steps down from his podium and takes measured steps towards you. The other hooded beings turn their heads to see what has interrupted this sermon. Now that you can see some of their faces, you become aware that this whole congregation is made up of malspirits and demons. It then doesn't take much of your imagination to work out that the person walking towards you is Lord Luciferous.
Ji Min pulls you behind him to shield you from his father. "Stay away from us," heyells at Lord Luciferous, who says nothing and continues to walk towards you. Is he smiling?
The other beings stay in their positions, apparently waiting for theirleader to give them instructions. You notice that Ji Min's back is shuddering, soyou place your hand over one of his healed gashes. It is throbbing and themuscle beneath is twitching. You place both your hands over his back which is beginningto burn up. There is fear in your eyes as Lord Luciferous raises his right hand, palm facing you both, and instantly Ji Mincollapses lifeless to the floor. Soon your surroundings turn black and yourlegs give way too.
