Resting my head against the sleeping wolf's belly, I stroked at his fur and watched as he slept so peacefully. His breaths were steady and brought me nothing but comfort.
I had tried to sleep, but I simply couldn't. We had been travelling for days and I still had no idea where we were heading to. But I trusted the wolf and trusted that we'd soon find out.
A part of me wanted to go back to confront my dad about everything he had done and why he had done it. I wanted to know how Brooke was and if she was okay. She was my best friend and my best friend was a damn werewolf. I just hoped she will be able to come back and find me.
Letting out a deep sigh, the wolf began to stir and turned his head to look at me as I nuzzled myself deeper into it's fur.
An involuntary smile came onto my lips as the wolf leaned over and nuzzled it's large nose on mine.
"You're cute" I muttered whilst rubbing the bridge of his nose.
The wolf nudged my head playfully before licking up the side of my cheek and cuddling me closer with his large body.
"I wish I could understand what's going on. I'm so confused and have no idea where we are even going. I wish you could talk to me. I don't even know if you are like Brooke, a werewolf".
The wolf began to whine and whimper as he looked at the one white spot on it's side. That was the area where tubes were inserted in. The drugs they were pumping into him had left a colour change in his fur.
Resting my hand gently on the area, I rested my head on it's side and stroked at it softly hoping it would bring the wolf comfort.
"I'm so sorry my father did this to you. How could he hurt something so, so beautiful".
The majestic wolf stopped whimpering at my touch and instead started to purr like an oversized kitten.
"I think I'll name you kitten".
The wolf stopped purring and started to growl lowly.
"Yep your name will be kitten, right kitten?".
The wolf turned it's head away and huffed loudly.
Stubborn wolf.
"Hey kitten".
The big stubborn wolf didn't move it's head as I continued to taunt it with a name that clearly insulted him. I was referring to the big majestic wolf as a tiny little kitten, of course it would be insulting to him.
I held my face in my hands and pretended to cry and sniffle. I held back a smirk as I felt the wolf move and cuddle me tighter in it's embrace.
Slowly pulling my hands away from my eyes, I stared at the silly wolf only to see it resting it's head on it's paws with puppy eyes whimpering loudly.
This wolf is too damn cute.
I couldn't help but laugh as the wolf started coddling and tickling my nose with it's tail.
"Stop it kitten" I muttered out during infectious giggles.
I probably should not have said that insulting nickname as he carried on tickling me relentlessly ignoring my pleas for him to stop.
"Alright! Alright! I'm sorry" I muttered out whilst wiping the tears away from my eyes as he finally pulled his tail away from my face.
The wolf circled my body in a protective hold and nuzzled his head against my cheek. I calmed my racing heart down and started stroking his fur once again.
