Katie Quinn was a girl with a big secret, one that she had never told anyone. This is the story of how her truth came out.
When Katie was a baby all she ever did was cry, nothing or no one could settle her. Eventually her mother had enough and dropped her on the doorstep of her father – a man by the name of Rane Quinn.
Rane was a big man, with many connections. He was president of the Nomad charter of the Son's of Anarchy. Sound good? Well not exactly, nomad means that they never stayed in one place too long and the reaper on his back drew attention.
When Katie was really young Quinn had her stay with Lee and the SAMTAC charter, just so he knew she was safe and wouldn't be hurt. It was there that she began to realise all was not right with her. Quinn had caught her talking to thin air and chalked it up to her having an overactive imagination and had gotten herself an invisible friend seeing as she was the only kid anywhere near the clubhouse – the reality for her was much scarier.
What she was actually doing was talking to the restless spirits who showed themselves to her. At first it was other kids who wanted to play, so that's what she did. She gave them their last wish and watched as a bright light surrounded them and they disappeared with smiles on their faces.
As she got older so did the spirits that would appear – by now she knew they were ghosts and she had made it her life's mission to help those who came to her.
Quinn knew she was odd, she had never grown out of the invisible friend thing. He wasn't bothered though, he knew the life of a Nomad kid was a lonely one and if that was how she got through it then so be it.
Katie wanted to tell him the truth several times but she was scared, her dad was a big man and had no problems handling anything that was asked of him, so she stayed silent. It continued to eat away at her but she didn't want to disappoint him.
When she was 16 Rane came to her and told her he had to go to Charming, to SAMCRO – the mother charter. Resigned to him being gone again she gave a sad "OK." and went to pack her things, fully expecting to stay in Tacoma again. He reached out to stop her "Katie, this time you coming with me baby girl, I need you with me." she was confused, she had never been to Charming before so why the sudden change?
Little did Katie know that heading to Charming was going to be the push she needed to tell her dad the truth.
Rane escorted her the entire way, and Katie watched wide eyed as they pulled into a garage called Teller-Morrow. She saw 2 people she recognised and smiled as she got out of her car. "Katie!" Kozik called out as he made his way over to her and picking her up, swinging her round just like he always used to. When he put her down she locked eyes with Happy who simply nodded at her as she smiled.
"Quinn who is this?" a blond man asked her dad. Quinn pulled her into his side "Jax, I'd like you to meet my daughter Katie." she gave small smile as Jax gave her a larger one. "Want me to show her round?" Jax asked Quinn. "Yeah, thanks man, I need to get caught up on why I'm here." he said giving Katie an explanation without telling her everything.
Jax wrapped an arm round her shoulders "Well darlin' you come with me and I'll show you where everything is." he said as he pulled her towards the bar.
Katie stumbled a little when she saw a man stood by the bar, looking directly at her at least that's what she thought. She knew what he was if not who when he shook his head and pointed at Jax instead. Katie sucked in a deep breath knowing that she now had her own job to do, but first she had to come clean.
Jax finished up the tour and she ended up in one of the dorms in the back of the clubhouse. As soon as she was alone the same man appeared to her once more. "Who are you?" she hesitantly asked. "My name is John Teller." he said. Katie's eyes widened, she had heard that name several times growing up and knew exactly who he was. "So I guess you need my help?" she asked. JT chuckled "Yes sweetheart I do, but you got to come clean first."
Katie knew he was right and it was now or never, so she made her way out to the bar and spotted her dad talking with Jax and Happy and another tall man like her dad who she hadn't met yet. She made her way over and Quinn immediately pulled her into his side. "Katie, this is Opie. I got some stuff to do the next couple of days but he will be around if you need anything." he said quickly introducing them. "Hi, it's nice to meet you." she said shyly. Jax pointed out a dark haired lady playing with a little boy "That's my old lady Tara with my son Abel. You could help out with him if you want?" Jax said offering her something to do. "Yeah that sounds good but first can I talk to you dad?" she asked turned back to face her father.
