She was sat in a dark room, the same room she had occupied for the last, well who know how long it was. She had forgotten.
She felt like she was in lockdown, realistically she knew she wasn’t but the same four walls day after day had a habit of feeling like that.
No one checked, she wasn’t surprised. Day after day the same feelings crept in. She felt empty, she began to wonder if anyone would notice if she just disappeared.
Meanwhile out in the bar..
Tig was finishing up for the day and went to find his daughter, hoping to have a drink with her and try get her to open up about what was bothering her. He sighed when yet again he didn’t see her. “Any of you assholes seen my kid?” He asked.“Nah man, haven’t seen her all day.” Opie answered.
“You kidding me? No one checked?” Tig asked, exasperated.
“You know what she’s like man, goddamn dragon, worse than my ma.” Jax joked.
“Fine, I’ll go see her myself.” Tig snapped, pissed off that no one did anything. That one thought alone making him think he knew what was wrong.
Back in the dorm..She sat on her bed, one arm wrapped round her knees as her other hand hit her head. “Just shut up, shut up, shut up.” She whimpered to herself, her thoughts getting loud enough to overwhelm. So much so she didn’t heat the knock on her door.
“Cammy doll, open up would ya?” Tig called through.
“Not now dad.” She yelled, Tig wincing when he heard the unmistakable sound of hand meeting flesh.
“Don’t give me that shit, I’m coming in.” He warned her.
“I said no.” She shrieked.
Tig being Tig ignored her pleas and entered the room anyway.
“What part of no don’t you understand?” Cam asked him, avoiding looking at his face so he couldn’t see the red welt on the side, or the puffy eyes that showed how much she had cried.
“The part where my kid refuses to talk to anyone.” Tig said bluntly. “Come on Cammy, talk to me.” He begged her.
“And say what Dad?” Cam sighed. “That my head is so messed up it’s tricking me into thinking every day is a lockdown? How I feel so fucking empty and alone that it’s all I can do to wake up everyday?” She said, feeling the dam on her emotions break.
Tig wasted no time making sure the door was closed and sitting on the bed next to his daughter. He just held her as she cried.
Eventually Cam passed out, completely exhausted by the emotion dump she just went through.
Tig waited until he was sure she was asleep before he left the room and stalked back to the bar. He went and ordered a whiskey, demanding the bottle be left.
Jax and Opie approached carefully, fully aware that when the curly haired man drank whiskey something was wrong. “She in her dorm?” Opie asked.
Tig nodded with a sigh. “Yeah, it’s not good.”
Jax frowned. “What do you mean its not good?”
“I mean my kid is lost in her own head, so fucking low she feels like it’s all she can do to wake up in the morning.” Tig admitted brokenly.
“Shit, none of us noticed.” Opie said, shaking his head. “What can we do man?”
“I think we need to remind her how important she is, to all of us.” Tig told the pair.
“She’s been our best friend for years, how did we not know?” Jax asked.
"Probably because we take her for granted, she's always here to pick up the pieces, doctor any of us who get hurt on a run, makes sure we're all fed and not one of us returns the same favor." Tig groaned.
"That changes today." Jax said resolutely. "She's the glue that holds us together, time for us to be the glue for her."
Tig gave the pair a small smile, grateful he had their support. "She's exhausted right now, fuck knows how she will be when she wakes but we need to be there."
Opie and Jax nodded, both of them thinking about what they could do to make Cam see how much she meant to the both of them.
A few hours later..
Cam woke up with a killer headache, it wasn't in her plan to break down yet she had. With a sigh she knew she had to actually leave the dorm, if only for coffee and Tylenol. As soon as she had that she was hiding away again.
She ran her brush through her hair quickly and shuffled down to the kitchen, successfully avoiding any of the men who were milling around and drinking.
She heard voices as she approached the kitchen and groaned to herself, realising her plan was about to fail.
With one last deep sigh she entered the kitchen and couldn't stop the giggle that erupted from her, her eyes widening at the long lost sound leaving her.
"Shit, Cam." Opie said, turning to face her.
The sight of him had her giggling again, his long beard coated in white dust from the bag of flour in his hands. "What are you doing?" She asked, her voice sounding a little hoarse.
"Making you some coffee and food." Jax answered, his signature smirk on his face.
Cam felt her giggles give way to a fresh round of tears. "I love you guys." She whispered.
"Hey, hey, none of that." Opie said softly, putting the flour down and wiping his hands on his jeans as he walked towards her to pull her to him.
"Starting now, it's the three of us, you need us we're there." Jax promised.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me." Cam said quietly. "But it means everything that you're here, and my dad."
"Stuff that, you got the whole of SAMCRO backing you." Opie said, his voice rumbling in his chest.
"Darlin' you're the glue." Jax said gently. "Our turn to be there for you."
