"Hurry up, Amy! We're gonna miss it if you keep running so slow!" I bellowed as I ran after Sarah. Past platform eight and platform nine and straight through the wall before platform 10. I stood on platform 9 and ¾ waiting for Amy to follow us through the barrier. She ran through, huffing and puffing, her cheeks red from all the running, "Why have you always got to be so slow? I almost missed the train."
Amy lifted her head a little ways and glared at me.
"It's only ten thirty." she quipped, sticking her tongue out as she passed me, joining Sarah and leaving me to struggle with all my luggage. I stuck my tongue out back at her. I shoved my trolley forward with all my weight but I didn't manage to move out the way of the barrier quick enough. Someone ran through, unable to see through the wall, and ran straight into the back of me.
"Hey, watch it! You almost ran over my baby sister!" Amy bellowed as she stormed over to us, looming over whoever the poor sod was who'd accidentally bumped into me. Amy had always been protective of me, ever since I'd come to live with them. She'd practically adopted me herself, calling me her sister even though we weren't really related. She loved me fiercely and would defend me to the death. Poor guy, I thought, he really hadn't meant it and now he had the full force of Amy raining down upon him.
"Amy, seriously chill. I'm fine." I said, picking myself up and looking to the guy who'd bumped me apologetically. He'd lifted himself up too and was proudly dusting off his prefect's badge, "I'm sure Percy didn't mean to." I said, smiling apologetically. Percy nodded thankfully at me and looked uncomfortable as Amy continued to glare at him.
"It's my job as your sister,"
"Not really my sister," I mumbled but Amy didn't hear.
"As your sister, to defend you. Don't make that mistake again." She snapped at Percy and helped me push my trolley of luggage out of the way. I glanced back with one more apologetic look at Percy. He was still polishing his prefects' badge and still looked uncomfortable, but that was now due to the fact that his two younger brothers, the twins in the year above me, were now teasing him for getting shouted at by a very angry girl.
Amy wouldn't shut up about how she'd saved me from being trampled to the point where even Sarah was worried about me.
"Be careful this year," She said to me, smoothing my hair with cupped hands and smiling almost sadly down at me, "After all those petrifications last year...I just don't want to see you hurt." She said, trailing off when things started to get too magical. Being a muggle, Sarah didn't really understand what had happened last year with the chamber of secrets but she understood that it was dangerous and that was enough.
"I'll be fine." I said, reassuringly and smiled widely up at her. Of course, I had no idea how things would turn out but I wasn't going to tell Sarah that. She'd never let me go otherwise, "I'm sensible, you know that, I'll be- Oh my god, why?" I shouted as I felt someone's arms entangle around my kneck from behind.
