Previously Titled 'Paradise'.
For her entire life, Paradise Hamilton has had no say in her own personal affairs. From a child she had grown up under the strict rules of her Caribbean parents.
But when the day finally arrived for her to wed a comple...
Paradise awoke to the clamorous sound of a ringing phone seeping past her eardrums. Her dark brown eyes fluttered open at the noise, raising her head simultaneously to be greeted with the morning's chaotic blur.
The spot beside her, where Zebediah would normally lay, was empty, resting instead; the white wrinkly sheets the pair had slept on. She sighed lightly, while running a hand through the curls entangled in her hair; picking up the phone that had not stopped buzzing since the moment it initially alerted her.

The moment her eyes met the phone's screen her heart leaped with excitement. Like fire had been placed under her butt; she jumped out of bed, dialing her friend back. After five seconds of watching herself on the screen, the pair had finally connected; and they both screamed with joy laced in their voices.
"Wah mek yuh jus a tell mi dis?" Paradise placed a dainty palm to her hip as she shifted to one side, mugging Autumn's pixelated version. Both of the women had just woken up; evidence of their goodnight's rest still extremely evident in their eyes.
"Mi did nuh kno until jus now!" Her brows rose in surprise with each word she spoke, before she glanced at something outside the camera's pan; saying a few mumbled words which Paradise could not decipher, then finally averting her attention back to her friend.
Paradise's brows formed caterpillars as she looked at her best friend. She knew they had not spoken in a while; but for the time that they hadn't; she could have bet her bottom dollar; Autumn had not given up her personal space she had always loved so much to take in a roommate.
"Who's dat?" Autumn-Joy, mentally froze at her best friend's query, not at all expecting her to have heard her speaking to the person she was. She placed her eyes on her friend, smiling brightly at her, before waiving her off, uttering, "Nobody. Jus ah bwoy mi deal wid."
The same time those words left her lips, the man in the background glanced at her, before heading to the entrance doors he had initially came through. He gave her one final look before, resting something on the stand beside him and walking out.
Paradise let out a low 'mhm', eyeing her friend openly before speaking. "Suh dat mek it how many now? One hundred?" She followed up her words with a brief snicker, eliciting one of Autumn's own.
It was no secret at all that the girl had been through her fair share of men. In fact; from high school she had been the girl that every nappy headed boy wanted. She had always been a beautiful teenager, with the perfect shape, and great personality to go right along with it. Autumn was a social butterfly and made friends quicker than two men bonding over their favorite football team.
