Zebediah took slow steps towards the entrance of the master suite he occupied; eyes glazed over with a crazed look. He could hear chopped voices, echoing and filling the entire vicinity of their home with each move he made. The man peaked his head slightly over the railing, focusing his ears to decipher just how many intruders had entered his residence that night.
"Jay, you go with Kilo, I'll wait here."
When the man spoke, he shooed a single hand urging the duo he had arrived with to head in Zebediah's direction. His words left his lips in broken English, informing the attentive male of everything he needed to know in that moment.
Zeb pressed his back against their home's eggshell walls, hiding himself from the view of the steps completely, all while gripping onto his weapon as he counted to fifty; the perfect timing a cautious person would take to fully ascend their marble staircase.
When a single black boot rounded the corner where Diah stood, the man wasted no time firing a silenced bullet between the invader's eyes. The shell made a clean exit through one body, entering the next just as quickly.
The moment the pair was on the verge of hitting the carpeted floor, Zebediah caught their heavy bodies, gently releasing them onto the ground to avoid a suspicious raucous. The male ran a wet snake across his lips before stepping both feet out of his Timberland boots, approaching the very edge of the staircase's barrier.
Downstairs, Juan paced around the room, keenly observing every detail about the home. His charcoal gray eyes raked from picture frame to décor, inspecting anything which caught and held his attention in that moment.
His right hand rested gently against the black pistol attached to his hip, left hand shaking sporadically, as if he were on the verge of agitation. Diah took slow and deadly silent steps towards the man, cocking his gun back and firing a single bullet into the palm which once held his weapon.
Like Goliath, the bloke fell to the floor in utter defeat, pain flushing through his features. He raised his left hand to touch the gun, stopping abruptly when Zebediah spoke.
"Don't fucking move."
His jaws clenched together tightly, feet edging closer to the wounded man before he confiscated his firearm. Garnet colored blood trickled down his fingertips, falling onto the once perfectly designed rug in the center of their living room.
