The single line which every guilty human being uttered when caught with the obvious evidence to their crime, had inevitably found its way to the tip of Paradise's tongue, falling onto the deaf ears of Zebediah.

"It nuh wah it looks like."

The man before her held no expression to his face, instead he stood before her; eyes alarmingly alert as he awaited her continuous lie.

Zebediah chuckled lightly to himself as he watched his wife, keenly; not once averting his eyes anywhere else around the bland room. His first impulse had been to lash out on the woman who had obviously been caught red handed the moment he had received the evidence from an unknown number, though he hesitated; to instead hear the mother of his child out amidst the pair's situation.

"So, what the fuck is it then?"

His words took a short pause as he flickered his orbs across her own, searching for any answer to the questions running rampantly through his brain.

"Cause to me, it looks like you all up on the same nigga you told me you met once." Diah's lips turned to a light scowl as he eyed Dise, watching intently as she shifted her weight between both of her flat feet.

It seemed as if in that moment; every word she had formulated to speak, had gotten caught in her throat the moment she parted her lips to utter them. So instead; she stood before her husband; reddened cheeks, and speechless.

The two kept their eyes trained on one another's before finally; Zebediah dropped his head, eyes meeting the tiled floor beneath them. A low sigh escaped his lips, as he brought a calloused palm to descend his face.

Once more a chuckle escaped his larynx, as he glanced at his wife for a final time before spinning on his heels.

The moment his back began to fade from Paradise's line of vision; her temporary frozen position, began to defrost. She blinked twice; desperately yearning to suppress the tears that stung her waterline. With a mind of their own; her feet lifted themselves to follow Zebediah's every movement around their home.

When the two had finally arrived to the exit door, the woman placed a dainty palm against Zebediah's shoulder; halting his steps, and forcing his body to face her own.

"What mane?" His words came out colder than usual; knocking Paradise down by a few pedestals in the meter of courage she'd had in that moment. She swallowed the large ball of pride that had been caught in her esophagus, mustering the words she wanted to speak, and finally; pushing them to the edge of her tongue.

"Yuh nuh understand. This was after mi found out yuh gyal was pregnant. Mi was upset." Which had been the entire truth. The instant Zebediah had made the revelation about his possible unborn child, Paradise could feel a small part of her sanity chip away the same time a part of her heart did.

She kept her emotions at bay, but with the luring beckon of Rocko; she could not resist; both the comfort and the aura which demanded an acceptance to any of his invitations.

"So, you turn to the one fucking person I'm at odds with, and then fucking smile in my face after what you did?" For a brief moment, a look of hurt fluttered across Zebediah's dark skin, though as quickly as it came; it vanished.

Paradise simply glanced at the man, no longer having the words or the energy to lay a proper argument on the table for the actions she had done. Instead; silence met the pair as their eyes switched across every aspect of their adjacent.
