For the weakness, instead of saying he is protective of his sister, a better way to cover entirely may be that he reach out to any solutions possible without thinking and evaluating if it is right or wrong. And then the e.g. because it will cover more widely among that.

His backstory is a great base, I do understand it isn't every single detail however it covers perfectly and I find it great! His skills seems balanced and yet this is definitely one of best and most interesting OC I've ever seen!
