It was the weekend, and I was bored as a dwarf in a theme park. I laid down on my bed, reading my diary.

Dear diary, Kai took me to the nurse's office right before I lost consciousness in front of him. How humiliating. Unexpectedly, he knows my name. He made my heart bounce like a kid in a bouncy house when he took care of me. Telling by his warm-hearted actions, I can tell that he is a considerate boyfriend that I wished I had.

Dear diary, I thought I lost you, but you were in my locker this whole time. This sound unimaginable, but Kai asked me for my number. Reminiscing about that memory makes me blush. I never anticipated that this day would come, but it did. He walked me home that day, which softened my heart.

My phone buzzed. Nobody generally calls me or texts me. Who could it be? I checked my phone to see my dreamy hero.

Kai: Do you want to get ice cream with me?

Me: Sure, see you soon.

I was down to do anything with Kai. The doorbell rang, and I swung the door open. The breeze sweeps through Kai's face and hair, making him even more gorgeous. Breathtaking.

"Are you ready?" Kai asked, and I nodded my head.

It was an awkward silence between us. We are starting to get to know each other, so we didn't have anything to speak about.

"Can I say something?" Kai broke the silence.

"Go ahead," I said.

"When you stopped coming to school for a while, and it made me concerned about you a lot," Kai mentioned. His words swayed me. Honestly, Kai is the first person to worry about me besides my parents. It felt satisfying knowing that someone cares about you, particularly when you don't have any friends.

"Why? We recently met each other." I asked. Honestly, I am afraid to get attached knowing that I can get devastated. I didn't want to get attached more than I already am.

"You may not know this, but I noticed you for a long time. I just didn't know how to approach you," Kai explained.

"You're the first person to worry about me besides my parents," I mentioned.

Kai got my ice cream for me. He got me vanilla, and he got strawberry.

"Should we become friends?" Kai asked.

I was skeptical, and that wasn't like me. I don't know...I would love to be friends with Kai, but I am also frantic. Frantic that he was going to abandon me and weaken me. My head was telling me, no, but my heart was telling me yes. I sigh, not knowing what to decide.

"Honestly, I would love to be friends, but I am also worried. Worried that once I get attached, you will leave me and hurt me," I admit. My heart felt as ease once I told Kai what was disturbing me.

We arrived in front of my house.

Kai reached for my hands and said, "Trust me, I am not going to abandon you or hurt you. Let's take slow steps at a time, and I will prove that I am not going anywhere."

Those words of his somewhat comforted me. "I will consider it. Bye, Kai." I smiled and waved.

"Bye." He smiled, and I oberseved him leaving until he wasn't in my eyesight anymore.
