The lounge was filled with the bickering of the red and blue paladin and the rest of the team trying to stop them. No one knew exactly how it started since they just happened to walk in on them arguing but they did know that nothing good was going to come out if this.

  As red and blue threw insults about each other, each growing more threatening by the second the others try desperately to break it apart. Hunk holding lance back and shiro doing the same with keith. Doing their best to prevent a fist fight against each other.

"Lance please stop fighting" hunk pleads to lance, lance ignoring him and continuing to bad mouth keith.

"Keith! Enough! This is irresponsible and childish of you!" shiro orders, also failing to get past keith who is still arguing with lance.

"AGH! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU SO MUCH! WHY THE HELL DID I HAVE TO GET STUCK IN SPACE WITH YOU?! OF ALL PEOPLE WHY YOU?! I HATE YOU SO MUCH I WISH YOU NEVER EXISTED!"

Everything went dead silent.

Lance immediately regretted what he said, wishing to take it all back in an instant.

But then  they heard a small muffled snort,which turned to small giggles, which eventually turned into full on laughter. Everyone stared at keith in disbelief and in slight horror.

He was laughing so hard he slipped out of shiro's grip and was crumpled on the floor laughing he could hardly breathe. His laughter felt like needles being stabbed in the other's soul. It sounded so off and broken like a damaged record.

As he started to calm down he looked at lance staring dead straight into his eyes lance felt like he was looking at his soul.

"I hate me too so i guess that makes two of us uh?" He says as he wipes a tear away from his eye.

"W-wait Keith I didn't-" lance tried to say before Keith interrupted him. "Didn't what? Didn't mean to say that? Well I'm sure as hell you did mean to say that since you pretty much already fucking said it." "No Keith I-" "oh? What was that? You want something for that? Well then, congratulations! You managed to make me feel like a worthless piece of shit again. Would you like an award with that?!" Keith says taking a step forward with each word he said laced with venom as his expression darkened and all the team could do was watch in shock.

"W-wait a-again?" Lance choked out, confusion swarming his head as he tried to grip onto what was going on.

What did keith mean again? Did he make him feel like that before? How many times? And how many times did he have to bottle it up until now? These questions filled the minds of everyone in the room except Keith, who was quietly laughing at what lance had said.

"Again you ask? Yes lance, again. You might not have noticed it over all your pride and shit but yes, I have feelings and you've caused this many times. Constantly picking on me about random shit that shouldn't affect you in any sort of way or form but you still do. You pick on my body, my personality, my hair, the way I talk, the way I walk, hell! Even the way my skin feels!" Keith yells, he was crying but he was also laughing, and it wasn't the laugh that made you think they enjoyed something no, it was the laugh of a broken soul. The kind of laugh that can make someone pity them even though they've never known them.

But the team knew Keith. Or at least, that's what they thought.

"But I can't put all the blame on you now can I? No I can't because that will make me sound like a dick. I can't defend myself or else I will be punished for it. I'm not going to get a pat on the back from my friends when I'm thrown a snarky comeback no! I'm going to be sent to my room with Shiro telling me to act older and like my age and be more respectful and responsible with a smack on the head while I try my best to hold back my tears while you are getting pity treatment! I have to bottle up all of my stress and anger because I'm the disrespectful one here! And when I'm finally able to be let out I'm getting glared with insults being thrown at me behind my back!" He says looking at everyone's reaction, he hated it. They acted shocked and surprised. Why?

"Keith-" "save it Shiro" he says as he looks away from everyone and walks out of the room leaving everyone wondering what they've done.

They broke keith.

They broke their red paladin.

And they're not sure if they can repair him.
