'Due to a piloting error, the kerberos mission was a fail and the crewmen, Takashi shirogane, Mathew holt, and Samuel holt, are all reported dead.'

Keith and Adam were hanging out when they received the news on TV. When they both heard it they were in shock and in disbelief, Keith was the first one to react and started to cry. Shiro was like a brother to Keith and to hear that another person he cherished was presumed dead hit him hard. He screamed, yelling that that wasn't possible, that Shiro was considered the best pilot at the garrison and that a piloting error was completely false. But maybe that was just to make him believe that what happened wasn't true. Trying to fool his mind that what he saw on TV was just a terrible lie the garrison made up and that Shiro was still alive.

Adam came back after a few seconds and held Keith in his chest, Keith crying into Adams chest, he knew this was a big blow to Keith's heart, he let someone into his heart and now they're gone, just like the last.

They both lay on the floor, crying on each other, salted tears mixed with the others as they held onto each other like their life depended on it.

After a few minutes of crying Keith passed out laying on Adam's chest. Adam picked him up and carried him to the guest room, laying him down on the bed and covering him with the sheets he held his hand. It was small compared to his but he didn't care, he kissed his forehead and went to his own bed crying himself to sleep as well.

The next morning Adam went to the council and brought Keith with him, he knew he was unstable and didn't want to risk anything with Keith. He demanded to know what was going on, asking them for the truth. They didn't say anything besides saying that it was a pilot error and asked him to leave. Adam left furious with the answers he got, Keith staying quiet throughout the majority of it.

Adam brought Keith back to his room and kneeled down to his level, looked at him right in the eyes. "Keith, I know you're going through a rough time and so am I, but we have to stay strong and make it through this. Shiro would have wanted this and I want you to do your best and succeed, we're going to have to go through some rough patches but in the end we will make it through. So please..." Adam said, tears filled his eyes as Keith looked at them, broken but willing to recover. "Graduate from the garrison, become the best, succeed and become the best pilot the world has ever seen. And don't just do it for me and Shiro, do it for yourself. That's all I'm asking for." He asked, Keith looked ready to break down once again but he regained some composure and nodded his head with determination and hugs Adam crying once more into his chest, Adam held onto him crying a bit himself. Keith pushes himself alway hesitantly and nodded once more, "I'll-I'll become the best pilot, a-and I'll be at the top just like Shiro, not just for you and Shiro but for me as well." He said, choking on his tears but still managed, determined to succeed.

Adam nodded and hugged Keith. "Yes, exactly. Just like that."

~1 year later~

A crash and small tremble can be felt and heard throughout the garrison as staff members run out the garrison to check the unknown source and students poke their heads out of their rooms to see what the commotion was about. Keith was studying and doing his work in Adam's room when it happened, it was also at that same time that he felt a tug, like a force was telling him, leading him away to somewhere he didn't know.

"Keith where are you going?"

Keith didn't realize he got up from his seat heading towards the door until Adam called out to him, "I-umm... I-I don't know?", he said confused on what was going on still standing by the door, the tug slowly fading away. "It's ok kid, get back to work" Adam says, patting Keith's head in the process making Keith pout.
