Lance saw nothing but an array of stars imprinted on a purple almost black sky with a platform that's almost like water. As he walked forward he noticed the ripples that appear under him as he walks around.

He continued walking and made an abrupt stop when he saw a figure in the distance, something was pulling him towards it as he walked towards it, the walk becoming a jog that turned into a sprint. He didn't feel tired as he slowed his passing and stopped behind the figure which turned out to be a human who he was too familiar with. Almost in arms reach but didn't touch them he just looked at them.

"Keith...?"

They turned around, and there in front of him was Keith, in all his emo mullet glory. But there was something off about Keith, and that was for the fact that there was a crack in his skin, almost like a cracked porcelain doll. It reached from his cheek to close to where his eye was, and it was illuminating a yellow glowing light.

"Lance?"

They both stood there, facing each other, in disbelief. That was until lance went in to hug Keith, latching onto him quickly, softly crying on his shoulder as he kept his grip on Keith, Keith slowly hugging him back, more gently than lance.

"Holy- is that you? Is that actually you keith? Oh my god I never thought I'd ever see you again!" Lance exclaimed, pulling away from Keith and holding his head in his hands. "Never expected to see you either sharpshooter." Keith replied, a bit of sarcasm laced in his voice.

"Oh don't give me that tone mister! I haven't seen you in what? 4 months?" Lance questioned, mostly to himself as he began counting on his fingers. Another hand reached out towards his and stopped him, he looked at Keith. Keith, looking down at his hand then back at lance, giving him a sad smile, at that moment the crack on Keith's face began to spread across other places as new little cracks appeared on his arms, neck, back, chest, and legs.

"K-keith buddy what's happening to you?" Lance asked, backing away a little from him as the cracks began to spread across Keith's body.

Keith shook his head, not willing to answer his question, "how has the team been? Are they ok?" Keith asked, dodging the question. "Well the team's been ok I guess, Shiro is... I don't know how to describe it. It's like, he put up a wall, kinda like you. He used to not smile as much as he used to and he was more focused on the galra and almost completely forgot about the team, but he's doing a bit better now. Hunk has been stress baking but is now helping pidge with finding her family and helping coran around the castle, pidge finally found her dad and bother, which I am super happy for her, Allura found a colony of altean, can you believe that! She found her lost race! She cried when she saw them. Coran has been as cheery has usually but it has dimmed down a bit, he gets a bit sad sometimes. And I've been ok, I've helped around the castle and when the teams feels gloomy, I do my best to lift their spirits!" Lance says, huffing at the end of his sentence almost happy. But a sudden flash of images of the team being depressed and sad appeared and it disappeared within seconds.

He felt something wet on his face and realized he was crying. He tried to wipe them but they just kept on falling, he looked up at Keith and saw he was crying too, but he was also smiling. He was smiling. But why was lance crying?

Keith laughed a little, as more tears fell down his face and as he laughed a bit more the cracks on his body only grew larger. "That's good." He said, his voice cracking as he spoke, his clenched fist shaking. "That's good, that's very good they're moving on." Lance watched him talk not knowing what he was talking about but every word that spilled out of his mouth made his heart clench and his stomach twist.

"Keith what are you talking about?" Lance asked, his voice shaky, Keith looked at him with a shaky smile, tears still rolling down his face as he gently grabbed Lance's face and touched their forehead with his.

Clips of memories and flashing images flooded lance's brain and then he remembered. He remembers why he was crying, which only made the tears fall faster and harder.

Lance pulled away and embraced Keith in a hug, Keith hugging back as more cracks appeared and grew larger by the minute. "I missed you, we miss you so much, I- wait," lance paused and looked at Keith "how are you here? You're supposed to be..." lance stopped, not wanting to say the rest, Keith only smiled at him and backed away, "red, red was able to contain some of my essence into the red lion, I've been watching all of you, it was hard to watch at first and I felt to guilty that you all had to suffer because of me," Keith explained, looking down guilt plaguing his soul. "You're wrong!" Lance exclaimed, Keith looking up surprised at lance's remark, which turned to fury "yes it is! If I wasn't so stupid to get caught this wouldn't have happened! You all wouldn't have been suffering because of me! Can't you see!? It's my fault!" Keith ranged, causing the cracks to only progress further, he gasped when his leg shifted under him and saw it was broken, "my time is running up..." he whispered, lance looking at him shocked, "no! No! NO! NO! Don't leave, I just got you back, I don't want to lose you again!" Lance exclaimed, gripping Keith tight and holding him close.

Keith backed off a bit from lance, small chips began to drift off from him as time was growing short. "Before I leave may I ask for one more favor?" Keith asked, "anything you want, samurai." Lance said, a small faltering smile on his face, Keith repaying it with his own, " give me a big smile, like the ones you used to give." Keith asked, lance looking a bit surprised by the simple request, but recovered and gave him a smile, a fake smile, but Keith knew better. "No! Give me a Big Real smile! Please?" Keith said, giving lance a small pouting face. Lance looked at him then laughed, well it was a small chuckle but it counted as a laugh in Keith's dictionary. "Ok ok." Lance shifted in his feet and gave lance a smile, a semi-big smile, a real smile, just like how keith remembered it.

Keith smiled at the sight and tears started building up in his eyes and feel down as quickly as they came. He stumbled towards lance and hugged him, the biggest, hardest hug he could give, which wasn't much but still worth a lot. "I'm going to miss you sharpshooter, I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, my times out, but don't worry, I'll be ok." Keith said, more chips of his body began to fly away from him at a much quicker pace. "I don't want you to leave, the team still needs you, I still need you! Who am I going to make fun of? The team's been lost without you.." lance said holding on as tight to Keith as he could, hoping that if he held on as tight as he could me might still be here. "You'll be fine, I believe in all of you, take care of hippo for me tho, he can't take care of himself." Keith said chuckling as well as lance. "Ok, I'll take care of that stupid hippo for you." Lance whispered, tears falling on Keith's shoulder, Keith smile still strong and tears of happiness dripping down his face.

"goodbye lance..."

"Goodbye Keith..."

And with that Keith's form shattered into tiny forms of glowing balls of light, fading away from existence as they floated further and further into space, Lance falling down on his knees crying his heart out clenching his chest with his fist, as if that was going to stop the ever growing pain in his heart.

"Goodbye Keith..."

Lance woke up with tears falling down his face as he sat up from his bed and ran to Keith's room. He opened the door to find it empty.

Lance walked in and grabbed Keith's jacket that was laying on his bed and held it to his chest cradling it, as if it were Keith in his arms and not just a plain jacket.

It's been like this for 10 months now, Keith died 10 months ago, everyone's still recovering but month by month they're slowly doing better.
