Nightmares - Daichi Sawamura

W/F means Worst Fear, alright? Sorry...

Warning: I mean, nightmares and lots of cuddles so beware
Plus the smallest sliver of angst, I think

~Fluff~

   Nightmares weren't an uncommon thing to you. And ever since you were little, you would find comfort in your best friend, Daichi.

"Y/N? Are you okay?"

   Your first nightmare happened when you were pretty little and you were at his house for a sleepover while your parents went on a business trip.

"I-I don't think so? I-I feel k-kinda scared."

   You had a variety of nightmares that you would go through, from W/F to just being stuck in the darkness, you always woke up with a start.

"Oh. Do you wanna a hug? Maybe that'll make you feel better," 9-year-old Daichi asked, already holding out his arms for you.

"Mmm, o-okay. T-Thank you."

"Of course."

   It was a pretty strange habit in your eyes, but ever since then, you always went to Daichi when you had a nightmare.

"Y/N? What are you doing in my house?"

   And thankfully, Daichi was okay with it.

"Y/N? Hey, Y/N!"

   You were running, hearing a teasing voice ringing through your ears.

"Come on, Y/N!"

   You weren't sure if you running from or towards the voices since the voice didn't get louder or quieter.

"Y/N! You can hear me, can't you?"

      The voice repeated in your ear as it started to get louder and louder, ringing into your ears.

"Y/N? Y/N!"

   You shook violently as you quickly sat up with uneven breaths.

"Wake up."

"W-What, oh," You breathed out, seeing that it was only Daichi next to you with a worried look.

   You then felt confused then realized that you invited Daichi over since your parents went on their anniversary vacation.

"S-Sorry for waking you up," You said with a shaky voice as laughter escaped your lips. You scratched the back of your neck as you sighed deeply, rubbing the side of your face.

   You peeked your eyes through your fingers, grinning sheepishly at Daichi. You heard Daichi let out an airy laugh as he started walking towards you.

"Fine, scoot over."

   You laughed as you did so and Daichi laid down next to you. He opened his arms to you, which you gratefully snuggled yourself in.

   You felt your heart racing, but you assumed it was because of your nightmare.

"Thank you."

   You were walking to the gym with Daichi as you guys made jokes and talked.

"Hey, did you ask about the volleyball camp?" Daichi asked you as the two of you walked into the gym. Daichi had already changed and had arrived a bit earlier than anyone else since he was the captain.
