"Gallant"

¤▪¤

I opened the door and hesitantly walked into the building. I didn't want to be here, but unfortunately I would have to if I wanted to find Avery.

I then looked around the place, children everywhere with their parents and some alone. Hopefully they'd be okay. Before I decided to actually go in, go in I wanted to make sure Glitchtrap was nowhere to be seen.

And sure enough, he wasn't. Fortunately.

Luckily I had spotted the man I had met earlier today, and I went right over. He sat at a table farthest away from any children or adults and I placed myself across from him.

Awkwardly I waved, a strained smile placed upon my lips. "Hello, again." I said.

"Hello." He greeted back there was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "We haven't actually introduced ourselves have we?"

That was true. We hadn't.

"I am [F/N]," I replied. We probably should've introduced ourselves earlier. I laughed quietly to myself.

"Pleasure to meet you, [F/N]. The name's Mike." He said. Mike. It almost sounded familiar, but it was a common name so I decided not to look to far into it at the moment. There were far more important matters to attend to.

"The pleasures all mine, Mike." I let out another laugh, but one a little louder than before. Unfortunately the mood that was present at the moment would be destroyed.

A unnerving feeling of dread suddenly made it's way up my body. I hadn't the slightest clue on why. Glitchtrap was nowhere to be seen, so why? I leaned my head on the palm of hands. "So," I started slowly.

"That room you spoke of, we should probably go there first." Mike continued on my thought.

I narrowed my eyes and looked down to the table. "Yeah." I agreed, but I really didn't want to go. The thought of seeing that dreaded bunny scared me. I let out a shaky breath. "I probably shouldn't be going in though, especially since I don't work here." It was true. I wasn't trying to get out of looking, but I was right. Wasn't I? I broke in last night which could put me in jail and I've already been in a room I shouldn't have been in. I didn't want to get in anymore trouble then I could be in already. Thankfully this guy, I mean Mike, he hasn't said anything about it.

"Are you trying-"

"No! Of course not." I locked eyes with him. "I would never. I won't give up looking for her or any other child that, that man has or might have kidnapped." I needed to reassure him. I was telling the truth. I just hope he believed me.

Even though we were almost complete strangers.

"I, okay. I believe you, [F/N]." He smiled awkwardly. "You're a good person. I can tell." Clearing his throat he stood up. "Now, let's go looking, shall we?"

I pushed myself up using my elbows and nodded. "Alright. Let's go."

I had a feeling this might not go well.
