"Gallant"

Even before I left my car, my heart dropped with dread. One glance made me tremble and I couldn't pinpoint why. I sighed lightly before stepping out of my car. The slow advancement to the entrance created suspense I did not need.
I bit my lip subconsciously before grabbing onto the door handle. I didn't budge for what seemed like hours." Are you gonna go in?" Said a male voice I didn't recognize. I whipped my heard towards him. I stared at him for a moment. "You alright there?"
I blinked a couple of times before realizing I was being weird. "Oh! S-sorry, sir." I let the door handle go and I turned my whole body around to face him. How embarrassing. My frown deepened some.
"First off, you don't have to be so formal with me. I'm Jacob, and it is alright..?" He trailed off before arching an eyebrow. I told him my name and I explained to him what I had been feeling because he seemed like a sincerely nice person. He kept asking anyway. It had only been a 10-minute talk, but I felt much better. He gave me his number, but I wasn't so sure if I should text him or not. I was okay with him knowing my name, but my phone number. He was a complete stranger.
I smiled lightly as we walked into the building, but once I was in my eyes immediately traveled to the three animatronics on the stage. Goosebumps rose everywhere on my skin and my stomach filled with a stronger dread than when I stepped out my car. I watched them sing to the children, whilst the children sang along. I would've smiled, would've. I didn't even realize Jacob said goodbye and went his separate ways.
I decided to look for Max and Jaylie if they were even here. I strolled around the tables and children looking everywhere but to no avail. In all honesty, I had given up pretty quickly. I sighed lightly. There was a small part of me that was sad they weren't here, but other than that, I guess I could go home and not deal with this place! I almost would've made my way to the door if this kid hadn't bumped into me.
They were crying. "S-Sorry!" She sniffed and sobbed as she spoke and looked up at me whilst she wiped her tears away. I bent down to her level with a small smile.
"Its alright, sweetie," I spoke softly. "What is the matter?" I then decided to ask.
"I-I lost my m-mommy! S-She just disa--a--peared!" Guess I had to help her find her mother. I grabbed her small hand and help it up in the air.
"Don't worry! I'll help you find your mommy!" I said like a hero in a fairytale would say. She giggled with a phew tears still falling, but finally, she had stopped.
"T-Thank you!" She grinned.
I stood up with her hand still in mine and asked her what her mother looked like. She did. I spent about five minutes looking for her and then BAM we found her!
"M-Mommy!!!!" She yelled while running to her with open arms. With a worried look, her mother embraced her tightly before asking her a bunch of questions.
"I told you to wait with Hailey! What were you doing? You can't just wander around, you might get hurt! These are so many other children here!" She lectured before noticing me. "Who's this?"
"She helped me find you, mommy!" She giggled.
"Oh! Thank you so much, dear!" She said. "I really appreciate your help!"
I responded with a nod and told her I'd be off now. She wanted to gift me something, but I said not to worry about that. I was just glad to help.
I watched them for a minute or two before I turned my attention to the entrance. Suddenly, chills ran up my spine. It felt like someone was staring at me intensely. I breathed out shakily and was about ready to look, but was tapped on the shoulder.
"Hello!" An almost erry, deep masculine voice said. I turned my full attention to him to realize he was in a bunny costume or well, it didn't really look like a costume. It was more humane looking. I backed up subconsciously. A fear making its way throughout my heart just by appearance alone. "Hello?" He tilted his head to one side and waved his hand to get my attention. I shook my head side to side.
"S-Sorry!" I said rather loudly, but not loud enough to get anyone's attention. "Did you need something?" I stuttered out quietly.
"Oh, well I noticed you helping that little girl out! It was very kind of you to help her." His smile seemed to widen, to anyone else it'd seem to be rather innocent, but I wasn't one of them. My body shook just by staring, and I had the urge to look away.
"Y-Yeah, I'd help anyone i-in need." My eyes averted to the ground.
"I see, well...maybe you could help me w-" He was interrupted by a familiar female voice.
"Birthday girl! Hey!" It was Jaylie, I was quick to turn to her. Max was with her and so was his younger brother.
"I thought you guys wouldn't be here?" I remarked. Max laughed.
"Sorry, hun! It was just a joke, we all knew you'd come anyway though." He grinned. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Oh! Did we interrupt something?" Jaylie suddenly asked looking behind me. I had almost forgotten. I looked at him.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
"It is alright, and did she say, birthday girl? Don't tell me..it's your birthday!?" He asked in a childish manner. I nodded hesitantly.
"Oh, wonderful!"
A buzzing noise filled my head.
