"How long will you be gone?" Petrah asked.
Manon contemplated for a few seconds before replying ", I will try to keep it short, but be prepared just in case if they can break into our world, then Orcus and Mantyx could as well."
Petrah nodded.
"Where's Bronwen?"
Her advisor had a pinched expression as she said ", Off in the city somewhere."
"Fair enough, paperwork is boring."
At that, the former Blueblood heir gave her a look.
Manon simply shrugged, starting to walk off, as she called back ", Make sure things are okay when I come back."
"Fine," Petrah grumbled, shuffling the papers.

"I still don't understand why I can't go with you," Chaol said when Dorian had arrived at Orythn, they had barely taken a seat before he started throwing questions at him.
"No, I'm sure Rifthold will be perfectly fine with no one manning the oars" he replied sarcastically.
His hand gave him an incredulous look.
Dorian threw his hands into the air ", Besides don't you have to take care of Avena?"
"Yrene can."
"Don't you need her close by to move?"
"I didn't on the battlefields."
"That was when you were in the same world."
They stared at each other, Dorian, sprawled on a chair, a lazy smile on his face; Chaol, his lips pursed, standing as straight as a ramrod in front of his king.
"I'm supposed to be the logical one," Chaol muttered, making to walk away, hastily saying ", Fine."
-
They teleported into chaos.
Velaris was once more being attacked like so many months ago, instead this time it was by those imps and wendigos once more, Feyre was so shocked she nearly buckled but she stood upright as she saw people dart in and out in fear, running, swearing, shrieking in both fear and defiance. Cassian and Azriel were slicing through the imps like stalks of wheat, Amren was off shouting orders from a distance, then there were the distant blast and explosion of bodies very very distant back, most likely Nesta trying to hone her magic.
They didn't wait to charge into battle, one moment clean and unharmed, the next seconds had them drenched in black blood, a pile of bodies surrounding each individual, except Elide, who despite her small size, seemed to know how to wield a dagger, not as if her mate would let her use it as he constantly shielded her.
They were about to continue to another section when Aelin raised her palm up, they paused. There was only their heavy breathing as they watched the fire-queen. Feyre didn't know what to expect, but one moment, it was as it was, then everything ruptured in flames.
Imps and wendigos incinerated within seconds right before their eyes, burning only the beasts and nothing else. She knew from Aelin's story that she wielded flame, but this, it might be even more powerful Eris and Beron together.
"And why," Manon asked drily ", Didn't you do that sooner?"
"Because I didn't want to," was Aelin's curt reply.
Feyre almost shrieked, people, her people were dying, and yet the queen couldn't just stop it right away? But she couldn't find it in her when she met the eyes of turquoise and gold, there was something in there, an emotion that she couldn't place.
"Well damn," Aedion said, whistling sharply ", I guess it's bye-bye to the tourist attractions I've been told of."
They all gave him a dark look. Then there was a laugh behind them.
Cassian and Azriel landed. Cassian clapped Aedion on the back, the generals eyeing each other while smiling shit-eating grins at one another.
"The name's Cassian, war commander."
"Aedion, Prince, and war commander."
"Fancy titles."
"what nice jewelry you wear to battle there."
Cassian snorted. The two generals started walking off together, Cassian introducing things to Aedion, while the latter adding snide and complimentary comments on the way.
"That guy's Azriel, you can call him Azzy..."
"...I can't wait to head to head with Amren, Nesta, and that witch queen together with you and Az.."
"...It'll be epic."
It was Elide who said ", The fuck just happened."
