I felt my jaw slack open in shock and immediately regretted my choice to leave the room. I hadn't realized Luca had someone else in his office, I thought he was simply on the phone with someone. I gulped hard but kept my angry gaze on Luca.
The man sitting in the chair in front of him, turned and looked back at me. I felt his gaze wander from my face all the way down to my feet and back up again. I felt my face flush as I looked back at him. He had pepper coloured hair, small amounts of wrinkles on his face, and thick eyebrows just like Luca. I couldn't help but find similarity between the two. They both had the same angry look in their eyes, and clenched teeth.
I looked back at Luca, who had stood up from his seat. His fists clenched at his sides and he scowled at me. I let a small gasp escape my lips and took a hesitant step back. Mayday, mayday, mayday. Death warning. Warning.
"Who is this, Luca?" I heard the man grunt out as he stood up from the chair. He turned around fully to look at me.
I felt the fire slowly leave my body and I felt scared.
Luca looked me over once again, before turning to the man. "Father, this is Emily. Emily, meet my father, Marco." He gestured over to the mans direction.
I gulped and turned my head towards him. His father? I guess the resemblance was pretty close. I still felt confused, feeling weird that he was here. I couldn't imagine a man like Luca, having a father.
Marco held out his hand, waiting for me to return the gesture. I kept my ground and looked back to Luca. He sent me a cold glare, threatening me silently to disobey him. I gritted my teeth and extended my hand to his. He quickly grasped my hand and pulled me close to him. He grinned and locked his gaze with mine.
I tried to jerk my hand away, but he squeezed tighter, making me wince.
"She's a real looker, isn't she?" Marco continued gripping onto my hand, while his other hand trailed up to my face and brushed a strand of hair that had fallen in front of my eyes.
I looked back at Luca, who had a look of anger across his face. His hands rested on his desk and he was bent towards us. I looked back towards Marco who still had that grin plastered on his face.
"Let go of me." I spat out, once again trying to wrench my hand from his grip.
His mouth dropped and he let out another cackle, "A looker with fire!" He continued to laugh. "I enjoy them like that."
I hardened my jaw and heard Luca let out a growl. "Enough."
His father ignored him and continued watching me, enjoying my anger.
"What are your plans for this one? Trafficking?" My eyes widened and I looked back to Luca in desperation, pleading with him to do something. But he didn't. He kept his feet planted and didn't move an inch. What a bitch.
Luca cleared his throat, "No. She was sold to me by an old client who couldn't afford his debts."
I let out a sigh of relief. I was happy that he wasn't planning to sell me off to some other man. I felt my chest relax, and my breathing slow down to a normal pace. I still didn't know his complete plans for me. But I immediately felt better knowing that he wasn't going to sell me.
Marco's eyes flicked over to his son's, "No? She would be worth a lot of money this one."
I growled at him, feeling angry that he was talking as if I wasn't even here.
"She will not be harmed," Luca's bright eyes fell upon mine. "by anyone but me." My stomach dropped at his last statement and I managed to rip myself away from Marco, who was too focused on Luca.
