"Father." I watched him step inside the large doors and remove his sunglasses. His blue eyes flickered up to mine and he sent me a chilling smile.

"There seems to be an issue at your front gate," he gestured back with his free hand, his smile widening further in mock. "let me guess, your little pet cause that?" He mocked further and I felt myself tense up in anger. I didn't answer him, I didn't want to. So he continued to speak up.

"I heard about the Costello's, and I thought I'd pay a little visit to see how things were going." He casually walked towards me, his eyebrows raising up in question.

"Everything is fine." I gritted, feeling angry that he showed up unannounced and had the courage to condescend to me.

My father straightened himself out and he tilted his head to the side, "Why so short and cold, son?" He put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a light shake. "Are you sure everything is okay? Talk to me." He spat out in fake concern, only wanting to assert his dominance.

I shook his shoulder off and turned my head completely towards him, feeling myself bite back a snark comment. I hated having to tell him these things, I could handle them on my own. "Some... knowledge about Damon and one of our clients was brought to my attention by one of my men." I left out Tyler's name, not wanting to be hounded for trusting someone so young. But he was smart for his age. "It was a betrayal. Damon had managed to grasp onto one of our close clients." I grumbled out in monotone, watching his stern eyes bore into me. "I found out where the trade was held, and killed them all. No big deal, it's taken care of." I bit out the last sentence at him. Would it kill him to trust me with anything?  He was beginning to raise my suspicions even more now. All of his questions. Showing up announced.

My eyes were still trained on his, and I noticed him grin wider. "Good, good!" He walked past me, causing me to strain my eyes to keep him in my vision. "In truth, I found out myself and I was rather disappointed that you did not tell me sooner." He said in a gruff tone, his eyes turning serious.

I felt myself flush in anger. "I can handle these things, father-"

"I never said you couldn't. But I wished you would've discussed that big of a decision with me. It could have some serious repercussions." I heard him point out the obvious, continuing to walk around the front entrance.

"Damon needs to learn his place." I hissed out in return, feeling my chest tighten up. "By killing those men, it will send him a crystal clear message." I argued, pointing out the obvious. "As well as to everyone else." I clarified and watched him stalk around the entrance like a vulture.

My father seemed to comprehend my words, pursing his lips in acknowledgement. "I couldn't agree more with you, but you must be ready for the retaliation." I held back the snarl that almost escaped my lips at his obvious statement.

My father continued to stalk around me, his eyes filling up with amusement. I felt angry at all the stupid questions that he was asking me. He made me feel like I was incompetent and stupid.

"Yes, I understand." I sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of my nose again.

I saw him step into my line of vision, narrowing his eyes on me. "Where is that little firecracker of yours? I'd love to see her again." His lips pulled back into a nasty smirk, flashing me with his pearly white teeth.

I grimaced and turned my head away from him briefly, deciding on whether or not I should tell him everything that's happened. I didn't really trust him all that well, and I didn't want Emily getting further involved in this. I could only control him so much, and I didn't want him getting any bright ideas.
