My body crashed against the ground as I hit it fully. My face collided with the gravel as the bullet wizzed by my shoulder and met it target. I glanced up for a moment, feeling my heart hammer even faster at my chest now; seeing my father gushing blood from his shoulder and screaming in pain. He rolled over onto his side and held onto his shoulder, rocking back and forth.

I looked back to see Jacob with a gun in his hand at his side, a bright smile creeping up onto his face. "I've always wanted to do that." He said with a small chuckled as I pushed myself off my stomach and onto my feet.

I gave Jacob a small nod and walked over to my father, causing him to grit his teeth in anger up at me. "Are you finally going to kill me?" He asked, still holding onto his shoulder.

"No." I simply stated. "You can stay here for the rest of your miserable life for all I care. You don't deserve the mercy of a quick death." I smiled and watched him clench his jaw tightly.

I grabbed onto the key from my pocket; Damon's and his. I walked down the road a bit, towards the bushes and launched them as far as I could. They flew deep into the bush and I knew he would struggle to even fine them. If he managed to survive.

Part of me did want to kill him, but he was also my father. Even after everything he did, he was still my father and linked to me by blood. I was going to leave him here to fend for himself, like I have been doing for years. And for my mother, she was going to live with us.

I walked over to Tyler who was still leaning over Emily in the back seat, "She's not waking up." He said and I jumped into the front seat, starting the car and roaring down the road once everyone was inside.

"Tyler, call the medic and make sure she's ready for when we come." I said, glancing up in the rear-view mirror at him.

"Yes sir." He said in agreement and I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, driving down the road as fast as I possibly could. My eyes were focused on the road ahead of me as I sped down it, going at least forty over the limit. I didn't care. I needed to get Emily back home and safe.

EMILY'S POINT OF VIEW:

The last thing that I remembered as I woke up was falling to the ground and Luca rushing over to hold me, but that was it. I remembered the feeling of the knife slicing into my throat and watching my hands get covered in blood as I fell to the rough ground. I had never seen that much blood in my entire life, let alone my own.

I surely thought I was going to die, but when my eyes slowly fluttered open to the brightness of the fluorescent lights, I thought the worst. I felt myself jerk upright and look around the room frantically, dreading to be back at Damon's torture dungeon.

"Kitten relax, you're safe with me." I heard Luca shift up from his chair and rush over to me, his hands found my shoulders and he gently pushed me back against the bed. "Don't move too much, your neck is going to need awhile to heal." He gave me a nod and I felt tears rush into my eyes.

My fingers slowly lingered up to my bandage around my neck and I felt it; rough yet soft. I dreaded having another scar on my body. I didn't need another one from Damon. "Kitten?" Luca's voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I dove towards him, bringing him closer to my body for a hug.

Luca's arms soon wrapped around my body and I let out a sob into his chest. I wasn't able to control the roller coaster of emotions I was feeling right now. I just wanted to lay down and be in his arms, but I couldn't while I was strapped up with all these needles in me.

"Is it really you?" I asked hesitantly and pulled away, touching his chest with my fingers to see if he was really real. "This isn't a dream?" I asked and poked at his chest, my eyes lingering on it lazily.
