I knew I was going in the right direction.

I began my journey down the long road, constantly checking behind and around me, just in case Damon managed to fit through the bars or call someone to come get me. I felt the hard pavement against my feet, but it was a lot better than the twigs and rocks.

My dress was completely covered in mud and ripped at the bottom hem, I hoped that whoever found me didn't want to do anything to me. I hoped that it was someone kind, or maybe even one of Luca's men. It would be nice to see some familiar faces, so I didn't have to explain what happened to me. I really didn't want to, but I would if I had to.

I wondered down the road, feeling rather happy that I managed to get away from Damon, for now anyways. I

It felt like this road went on forever, but my heart fluttered when I saw a gas station up ahead.

I picked up my pace and began running towards it, closing in on it in a matter of seconds. My feet pounded against the ground, sending waves of pain up my spine, but I didn't care right now. I needed to get help, and this was the perfect place.

I ran towards the glass door, ripping it open and glancing around. My eyes scanned over the small space which was filled with all sorts of little gas station things; food, candy, drinks, smokes, everything.

"Can I help you, Miss?" The man behind the cash asked me as his face held a worried expression. I gave him a pleading look and walked towards the counter, his eyes still trailed on me in a state of pity and worry.

"Do you have a phone I could use?" I asked in a brisk manner, wanting to get ahold of Luca.

The man gave me a small smile and nodded, "There's a pay phone outside..." His voice trailed off as he looked at my disheveled state. "But you can use mine." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black flip phone, handing it over to me.

"Thank you so much. I'm in trouble and I need to call someone." I nodded and punched in a few numbers, remembering Luca's number he had given me not that long ago. He said to memorize it just incase anything were to happen, and I think this would count as that.

"Would you like me to call the police?" He asked softly and I shook my head.

Cops wouldn't help this situation, as most of them were probably paid off by Damon or Luca. I didn't want to be around them. I just needed to call Luca and tell him where I was, then he would come to me. Plus, if a cop shows up that isn't paid off, what would I say?

Hello, my name is Emily Watts, I was kidnapped and sold to a Mafia leader who deals drugs and kills people. But don't worry! I love him! I scowled at the thought and brought the phone up to my ear, my hands shaking lightly.

"Can I go outside? I'll only be a minute." The man gave me a weak smile and I nodded, still holding the phone up to my ear and stepping outside into the fresh air. I walked around to the side of the building as the phone rang, anxiety filling up my chest.

"Hello?" I heard Luca's firm voice come from the other end and I almost dropped to my knees.

"Luca! I escaped; I'm at a gas station God knows where. Please, come and get me. Damon is planning to kill you during the trade off! Please, I don't want to die." I felt a surge of fear hit my body and I sat against the brick wall.

"Kitten?" Luca cried through the phone. "Calm down, just breathe. I'm here and I will come get you right now. Where about are you?" He tried to sound calm but I could hear the worry in his voice.

"I'm at some gas station a few miles out from Damon's house, I don't know much else. I managed to escape but if he finds me; he's going to kill me." I let out a shaky sob, holding onto the phone tightly. My voice came out into a ramble and I could hear Luca yelling something not towards me.
