"I thought the agreement was to meet in the same place on Friday afternoon to pick you up each weekend?" Louis spoke into the phone. He didn't have long to talk, but for you to call him so immediately took him by surprised.

"I-I..." Your voiced wavered and he felt very concerned.  "I don't want to be here, Louis. Class doesn't start until Monday, can't we meet earlier?"

"I mean, how early are we talking about, YN? I have business I attend to now throughout the day." Louis sighed, not wanting to be seen as weak by the lions around him by immediately giving into you. Even though he wanted to. Badly.

"U-Um," You stuttered at the sentence. You should have known he already had plans. "You know what, never mind. I was just kind of shaken. Don't change your plans for me."

Louis put his phone to his chest and spoke to the driver.

"Turn back around please, it seems the little omnivore wasn't quite ready to go back yet." Your heart burst with appreciation at hearing this. "I'll pick you up outside your dorm. You don't need anything, right?"

"No... Thank you, Louis."

"YN..."

"Yes?"

"I better hear the entire truth when I pick you up."

As you hung up, you smelled that familiar, aching smell that you wanted to avoid. It only took a minute for it to approach you with hungry eyes.

"Why is Louis picking you up?" Legoshi growled.

"We're friends now." You responded curtly, wiping your eyes to make sure there was no tear residue.

"Why? He's not a good guy, YN--"

"Shut your jaws." You interrupted him. "He tries."

"Really? He didn't try and save you when the Shishigumi took you."

"As far as you know."

"Oh? What don't I know?" He loomed over you scarily and your tail tucked slightly between your legs.

"Why are you so angry, Legoshi?... It's frightening..." Your voice was tiny and he tried to calm himself down but he couldn't.

"I could smell what he did to you. I could smell his scent all over you. But you're mine. I don't want him to touch you."

"I am not a part of whatever pack or harem you are surrounded by." You got braver as you stepped away from him. "Don't act like you care." You kept taking steps back until finally you turned and sprinted towards your destination. In your mind, you begged Legoshi not to follow you.

That's wrong. Legoshi stood still as a crane. I do care. I care too much. And about too many people. That's why they keep all getting hurt. I can't express myself how I need to and I worry about how they will feel because of me... The curse of an apex predator... I couldn't even reject Juno properly...
