13: Go Off (Again)

"Did you end up going home?! You said you wouldn't!" Els scolded you

"I went by your dorm and they didn't even know!" Ellen put her hands on her waist.

"You know, you really ought to tell your friends stuff like when you're going to disappear for months... We get worried." Pina looked disappointed, but tried to hide it.

"Yeah, like what if you got kidnapped!!" --that one was ironic, but came lovingly from Dom.

"But we're so glad to have you back! All of us!" Fudge smiled.

Animals hugged you and patted your fur as you smiled and soaked up the attention. Was this what it was like for Louis all of the time? No wonder he likes it...

"Y-You left?" Legoshi's voice stopped the chatter.

"Yeah, you didn't notice?" Bill raised an eyebrow. "I know we didn't have drama club meetings, but like... you, especially didn't notice?" He voice was quieter the second time. Whispers were starting to form.

"No, um, see, I was dealing with a lot-- Where were you?" He shook his head and asked you as he bent down.

"Some place far away." Your voice quivered with sadness. You had shared your first night with him... and he hadn't even noticed a two month absence? Where was the wolf that rescued you from the Shishigumi?

Legoshi leaned forward and took a big inhale. His eyes went dark.

"Oh. I see." He stood up and stalked out the door.

If I catch up to that deer, I'm killing him. I'm ripping him apart limb from limb and devouring him whole. His pupils were massive. I warned him. I said to his face that he could never touch her again. And yet he was so bold as to bring her into the school, the club, smelling like that. Like he defiled her. God, I'm so stupid. I was so caught up in my drama with Haru and Juno that I didn't even realize she was gone. I just figured she would hang around or something... she never mentioned any plans...

Legoshi followed the trail scent, but unfortunately when he got to a road, it was gone.

Bastard.

"BASTARD!" Pina yelled, breaking the awkward silence in the club! "Excuse my language but what in the flying FUCK!? That idiot practically goes down on you in the club, whisks you away the night before the meteor festival and then has the nerve to say he didn't NOTICE you?!" Pina locked eyes with you as others in the club started to join in the anger. "Get mad, YN! Show some emotion for once! You're not a damn doll! Stop being a doormat! Curse that bastard to hell with me!"

The look in your eyes went from blank to angry. But it wasn't with Legoshi.

"This whole year, I have been relentlessly teased over Legoshi. 'Oh, the little wolfy loves Legoshi', 'haha omni-baby has a crush on Legoshi' 'How are you and your man?' 'How does seeing Legoshi with other females make you feel?' I never once said I liked him! Not to a single person! Why does everyone assume that I like him, just because one time I asked to know more about him!? I've groomed with Bill, I lived with Louis! But no, everyone is obsessed with pairing me with him! We aren't even the same species and he isn't interested in me! At first I felt like I was letting everyone down by not being the object of affection. I didn't care about Haru, Juno or anyone else! I never said a negative thing! I comforted him when anyone would have! Why am I being subjected to this torture? AGAIN! By my friends!" You yelled at everyone. "Leave me alone, Pina! I'm not a doll or a doormat, I'm just not interested in playing your stupid little game, okay!?"

Pina looked you in the eyes.

"You're the worst liar, I've ever met." Was all he could say as he shook his head. "I don't know how he even could like someone like you."
