Louis, someone who's more attuned to the shadows, decides to step into the light of a little maned wolf. Can he win her over?
"Haruo..." Louis was chain-smoking through dinner. "Eat to your heart's content."
"I can't eat this..." Legoshi shook his head.
"You'd be pretty damn dumb to reject food from the Shishigumi..."
"I'm sorry but I'm a maned wolf... Bigger than most, I must add. I can only eat eggs. Meat makes me sick."
Louis narrowed his eyes in anger. Why would this bitch buy meat and now reject it when presented with it?!
"Ha! I don't understand you." Ibuki clapped Louis on the back. "Our boss is a fine young dee, as you can see, but he likes eating meat. And his little maned wolf play thing does too. Ain't that right boss?"
"Of course." Louis took a cut from the red deer in front of him. The Shishigumi were always testing him. "I'm fine with cannibalism."
"Good going, boss. You're nothing like this wimp! You should learn from him, Haruo!"
"I'll excuse myself for a bit."
Louis left to go vomit up the meat in the back yard of the restaurant. Legoshi wasn't far behind him.
"Hey, Legoshi. Hit me like you did last time. Give me a reason to kill you."
But instead, all he felt was the large predator's body wrapped around his own in a hug.
"What are you doing here, Louis!? Nevermind that," Legoshi's eyes watered. "I am so glad that you're still alive."
I don't smell any meat... The only thing I smell on my idiotic underclassman... is the body wash from the school.
Finally, he came back to reality.
"Hey! Stop it! This is sickening! We're rivals! You're breaking my body!" Louis broke out from the grip.
"Talk to me, Louis. Please."
"Fine. But don't touch me again." The two males sat on the porch. "I presume you understand everything from what you saw there. I am colluding with the Shishigumi as their leader. A lot has happened. YN is very safe, though, I can assure you."
"It's my fault, isn't it..." Legosh put his head in his hands, wiping away some tears "It's because I came to their hideout..."
"Not everything is about you!" Louis scolded him. "I wouldn't throw away my future for you."
"I know that you rescued YN from the Shishigumi, but don't you dare think that I gave myself up to them for your sake. I chose this path out of my own volition. And if it hadn't been for me, you'd both be dead. But let's change the subject. I don't like that you hugged me while you're being intimate with Haru. It makes me mad, thinking about it."
"Intimate?! We're not like that! In fact, we're not even going out."
"What? But you rejected YN for her. Or did Haru reject you?"
"I don't know... maybe? I'm working on that. I think she wants you back more than anything..." Legoshi sighed. "I can get used to a harsh training routine but trying to figure out how girls think is never going to be easy for me."
Louis could confirm the first part. All day, while you were at school, he got texts... or maybe more actually sexts... from Haru. She missed him. Missed his body. Was craving his intimacy...
Occasionally, he indulged her with a picture here, a romantic inquiry there, but he wasn't able to satisfy her the way she wanted. Not with you living with him. Not with Legoshi in the picture. "You were training here? I did notice you were bigger than I remembered. I figured it was the burden of juggling multiple girls on your shoulders."
"Louis... we should run away together."
"I can't. The Shishigumi need me. They respect me."
"No, they're deceiving you! They're going to corrupt you to the very brim. And I can't accept that!"
"You're still the same goody-two shoes. Listen. In this society of adults, everyone deceives each other for their own benefit. Naturally, when I started as their boss, our relationship was purely out of business. But now, we're close enough to pull this off."
