"That settles it." Louis set his glass down during dinner. You and him had been conversing about this afternoon's events. "Boys."
"Yes, boss!" They responded uniformly.
"We're going wolf hunting tonight."
With a cheer, everyone scarfed down their food and went to go prepare. This left you with a short amount of alone time.
"Louis?" You asked.
"You can just start talking. It's only me here." He smiled, chiming those familiar words.
"Don't hurt him." You begged.
"I should kill him." Louis sighed, "He's been stalking my men in the black market, he was buying meat and..." He stroked your cheek. "he hurt you."
You pushed his hand away roughly and then collapsed on the ground before him.
"I'm begging you. Please, don't do that."
"Get up and sit on my lap. Let's have an honest conversation." He dragged you into his lap. "Do you love him?"
"He was my first love."
"Let me rephrase. Are you in love with him right now?" His eyes looked deadly.
"No. But I don't want bad things to happen to him."
He gripped your wrists uncomfortably.
"Who do you love more? Me or him?"
"That's not a fair--"
"Answer me or I shoot." His gun was against your chin. "And make sure it's the truth."
"I had a better chance of being with him long-term than with you. But our relationship hurts a lot less." You admitted, closing your eyes in case tonight was the night Louis finally lost all control and followed through on his threats. "But right now, and the last time you saw him, you've been hurting me a lot more."
"No, I'm not." He narrowed his eyes. "You're fine. You have all these males fawning after you."
"You know, Louis," you gently pushed the gun away. "When a person tells you that you hurt them, you don't get to decide that you didn't. I don't like how you treat me around him."
If he could have growled, he would have. "I don't like how he treats you. Tonight was just another emotional manipulation. He won't let you move on. When it comes our time to part ways, I can at least let go. That's why I'm holding on so tightly right now. I want to cherish this time we have together."
"I think you've been spending too much time around carnivores. Before, you were just spoiled." You laughed and stroked his cheek, happy to have disarmed the bomb inside him for now. "Now, you're spoiled with extra power."
"Most woman would relish in it. Boss a few people around, demand expensive things..."
"Maybe it's because you never had a mom or sister, but most women aren't like that..." You shook your head. "If we want you, we want you. Flaws, bonuses and the like included."
"I don't know what to do with women..." Louis admitted.
"No teenage beast does." You laughed lightly. "Go ahead and punch him like he punched you that one time... I'm just asking that you let him keep doing whatever he's been doing... I think it's really changing him for the better."
"Whereas I am changing for the worse. Got it." And with a long, strong kiss on your forehead, Louis left to go on his hunt.
