34: Wolf Hunting

Legoshi's head whipped around as soon as the scent of the familiar beast hit his nose. He hadn't seen Louis in so long, frankly, he was just happy he was alive and okay.

"You don't have to say a word." Louis puffed a cigarette.

"That's the spy who's been following us around boss! He might have stolen some information regarding us. What do we do with him, boss?"

"Don't make a scene, boys. Leave everything to me." Legoshi thought this would be good, but Louis' eyes hinted otherwise.

"Want us to search him, first?"

"Sure, why not. Do as you please with that."

"Hey kid, you've been acting awfully suspicious. Tell me why you're spying on us?" The lions circled Legoshi as the wolf removed his muzzle that he wore during work. They didn't seem to recognize him with his fur cut.

"Look, I'm sorry, I was just passing by and, uh, I was tailing you because I was curious..." Suddenly his tail started wagging as Louis looked at him. He was just so happy he was okay. "I'm... really sorry..." He needed his tail to stop. "So, um, could you let me go...?"

The group discussed the strange beast. But Ibuki finally broke off and approached Legoshi. "Let's find out more about this guy. He's way too suspcious. He pisses me off... I don't like the way he's been looking at our boss," And with a fist cocked back, Legoshi was given retribution for what he had done to Louis that day in front of the mayor's tower. "Check if he has any weapons or wiretaps!"

Even Louis had to admit, it was hard to watch the wolf not fight back. But this is what he got for coming here in the first place. When I saw you at school, you had this suffocatingly self-righteous ttitude about herbivores. But when I saw you here in the black market, you were buying a bag of meat. Are you just happy to see me? So happy that you can't help but wag your tail? Or are you hoping to get back what I took from you? You held YN all to yourself until Haru showed real interest in you. Then, you pushed her away. Now you want her back? There is nothing in this world I hate more than hypocrites.

"That's enough. He's not a spy." Louis took pity after only a minute. "Why don't I make it up to you with some food, you dog? I'm going to have dinner with the leaders of the Shishigumi. You come too."

And so he did. And the lions had a lot a questions for him.

"What's your name?"

"How old are you?"

"What's your job?"

"What were you wagging your tail like that?... that was just gross."

"My name is Haru...o, Haruo. I'm twenty-seven and I am a night worker... As for my tail, um, my body was just really excited..."

"Oh! So you're a masochist! So weird!"

"I get that a lot..."
