"Oh! I'm so happy!" Dom had tears in his eyes as he read his texts. "Kibi's arm is going to get better! He couldn't move his arm when I visited him! This is amazing!"
"Yeah, all his hard work paid off." Legoshi noted. "Hey, has anyone seen YN?"
"You know, I haven't." Dom thought. "Surprised you noticed." Legoshi's ears fell at the remembrance of his mistake.
"I'm thinking of visiting Kibi myself..." Riz was talking to Dom now as Legoshi retreated to the spotlight with Fudge.
"You should! But I don't know how I feel about Tao's two-week suspension... You think they couldn't have done something else?"
"...I don't think so. It was an accident but he still hurt Kibi. It's a terrible crime to be careless around herbivores."
"Uh... Legoshi?" Fudge touched the wolf with his small paw, but the spotlight was crushed. "Are you okay?"
"Are you just telling that to yourself?" Legoshi growled and faced off against Riz. "Tell me how guilty Tao is for his crimes!"
"Stop, Legoshi!"
"Let's stop this, they're all watching." Riz's face was blank.
"I don't care. That's your only concern."
Riz took Legoshi's arms and pushed him back. "All carnivores should know how to control their emotions. Clearly, you don't. Your soul is inferior to mine."
"Waah! You're so mean!" Pina's voice rang out and it broke the tension, causing everyone to look at him. "I was speaking for the poor spotlight here. Get a hold of yourself, Legoshi. You shouldn't cause any more damage than you already have. Right, Riz?"
Legoshi took a breath and calmed down. "I-I'm sorry."
"Yeah, and?"
"I'll pay for the spotlight."
"There! That's what I wanted to hear. Problem solved. Let's get back to practice!""
And back to practice everyone went.
Meanwhile, you hadn't stayed at that bar very long. In fact, you were in a strange place right now.
"So this is your... office?" You wandered around, looking at Melon's work place. "Should I call you Doctor Melon?..."
"No. I'm not trying to see you in a professional manor." You heard the click of the door closing, and locking behind you. You sighed. Of course this would happen. You had just been having a shitty day and then a shitty experience with Louis and now something bad was going to happen. You knew it.
"You locked the door. What manor are you trying to see me in?" You sat down on the massive couch and sighed.
"I would like to kill you. There's loads of elephant skeletons under the floor." Melon quickly gave up his ruse. "You're such an honest Chrysocyon the least I can do is be honest back."
"You're not all gazelle are you?" Melon slunk over to you and leaned over to look at you.
"No, of course not. You have above average perception skill, I'll give you that." He pulled his mask down. "Go ahead and guess what I'm mixed with. I think it'll be fun."
"Hm. Well, maybe--"
"Wait! A game is no fun without stakes. Every wrong guess, I'm going to give you a little cute and lick it up. If you get it right, I'll let you do any one thing with with this box cutter... Kill me if you want, try and open the door, what have you!" Melon laughed manically.
And could you say no?
Of course not.
AN: End of Book 2!! Onto Twist, Melon's story! Twist will hopefully be as long or a bit longer than this book, but we'll still have ONE MORE BOOK after that! And I also may have decided to make a prologue/off-shoot unrelated book for Gouhin :)
