We held a little memorial for Courtney. I did the talking this time but I was no where near as good as what Courtney would have said.
"It is with great regret that we say goodbye to a wonderful friend, daughter and a surviver. She was the strongest of us all. Personally I thought she would win. She was strong, tough, and had a strong will to survive. She was always so nice and caring but funny and crazy all at the same time. She will be greatly missed." I wanted to say more about her so everyone in the world would know what an amazing person she is... was.Days went on with no attackers, violence or fights. We were so bored. And like I have said sooo many times before I wanted to leave. I know you have heard this so many times but it's the truth. It is. I was wandering around aimlessly to try and get some entertainment in this amazingly un-fun experience!! I kicked around the dirt at my feet. I felt a chill. A shiver ran down my spine. I turned around to see OH MY GOD!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT I SAW!!!! It was an old friend who I thought I would never see again. It was Jainelle. I started crying tears of joy. I was overwhelmed with complete happiness. My best friend who I believed was dead was standing right in front of me, alive and well.
"Jainelle, Um... Hi!!" I said not knowing what to say. She just stood there with no emotion on her face at all.
"Hello Thomas." She said in the most dreariest tone I have ever heard. She just continued to stare at me whilst looking dead. she had absolutely no emotions. Maybe she was a zombie. A talking nice zombie. I had to tell Dylan and Tamika the good news. I rushed over to the supply shed where they were eating.
"Guys! Guess what?? You'll never believe it!!!! Guess what?" I said rushing into the cold shed.
"What is it?" Tamika asked looking concerned.
"Is everything ok?" Dylan asked.
"Everything is great!! Never better.!" i said ecstatically.
"Um are you forgetting that we are all meant to be killing each other?" Tamika asked.
"Oh yeah I forgot about that. But we can worry about that later. I HAVE to show you something." I said really fast. Tamika and Dylan just looked at each other and then at me again. "Well C'mon." I said pulling the two out the door and leading them to Jainelle.
"Look Jai's back!!!!! Isn't it amazing?? Like the best thing ever!!!" I pointed to Jainelle who was still staring at me with absolutely no emotions what so ever.
"Oh Wow!!" Tamika said. "Oh I've missed you so much." she ran up to Jainelle and hugged her. Jainelle didn't even hug her back she just stood their and stared at me (again.)
"But you were dead?!? I shot you!!! I saw it with my own two eyes!!! How can this be possible?" Dylan asked with great confusion. "Oh Jai I am so sorry that I shot you!!! I am so very sorry." Dylan said as he got on his knees and begged for forgiveness. Jainelle didn't say anything back or even look at him she just continued to stare at me. Dylan got up and exchanged worried glances at Tamika.
"Oh isn't this wonderful? Maybe the government felt bad for being mean and cruel. So maybe they decided to fix Jai." I said in a really chirpy tone.
"Look Tom, I don't think this Is all real. Dylan shot her and you held her in your arms and watched her die. We then buried her. I don't think it's actually her. I mean she's acting really strange and weird and I don't think she is actually alive." Tamika said.
"What?!?" I snapped "No you can clearly see that she is alive. Duh she's right in front of you."
"No Tom look at her. She looks dead and really creepy. Her hair is filled with dirt, her skin is a shade of pale green and she isn't reacting to anything we have said or done. She looks a total mess and isn't acting her usual self." Dylan said.
"Well I don't think you would be acting or looking the best if you were shot and buried alive. Clearly she dug her way out if her hole. She lost a lot of blood from the gunshot so I don't think she'd be feeling the best either. Is that a good enough reason for her to be acting strange??" I said getting really defensive. "Whatever I'm outta here." I said walking off. All of a sudden I felt a tight grip on my wrist. A really tight grip. It got tighter and tighter and it really started to hurt.
"Ow, Dylan your hurting me" I said."It's not me." Dylan replied. I turned my head to see that it wasn't Dylan or Tamika that held my wrist with great pressure. In fact it was Jainelle.
"Jainelle! That really hurts get off!" I pleaded but she only squeezed tighter.
"I didn't say you could leave!!" Jainelle hissed at me.
"I'm sorry just please let me go." I begged. Her grip became tighter and stronger and my wrist turned a shade of purple. "Please I'm begging you let me go."
"Didn't you hear him?!?" Dylan asked with a threatening tone. "WHAT ARE YOU?? DEPH???" He shouted at her. "He told you to let go now let go!" Dylan said as he slapped her across the face. Jainelle quickly let go of my wrist. It was so sore and ached so much. She faced Dylan and screamed in his face. Not a high pitched scared little girl scream. A deep, frightening, monstrous scream. It was loud. Jainelle placed her hand around Dylan's neck and started to choke him. I had never seem Jainelle act this way before. She was acting really scary and destructive. She squeezed at his neck until his whole face turned blue.
"Ok Jai, you've made your point and had your fun. Enough is enough." I said really panicky. She continued to squeeze Dylan's neck. "Please!! I'm begging you to let him go! Please!" I said as tears rolled down my face. Jainelle just ignored me.
"He said STOP!" Tamika said getting really worked up. She ran up to Jainelle and pushed her. Really pushed her. Jainelle let go of dylan and fell backwards onto her head. I grabbed dylan and made sure he was ok. Jainelle got up of the floor and had appeared to have grown a metre in a matter of seconds. She was now towering over all of us.
"You selfish BITCH! How dare you push me?!?" Jainelle screamed at Tamika. All of a sudden she picked Tamika up by the neck and threw Tamika into the hard dirt. "This should teach you not to mess with me again." Jainelle said as she picked Tamika up again. "However I don't think you have quite learned your lesson yet." She ditched Tamika at a rock and continued to smash her head against it until blood was gushing out. I was screaming. Dylan was screaming. Tamika was screaming. Then we were all silent. Tamika was probably dead and I didn't have the energy to scream and Dylan had passed out at the sight of Tamika's blood. "There we go. Now she's nice and dead." Jainelle said smiling at me. All of a sudden Jainelle had transformed into a robot. It waved at me and then it disappeared. What?!? What the fuck just happened? I felt silly and stupid for believing that Jainelle was alive after I had witnessed Jainelle die. It wasn't her. Instead an attacker disguised as her. Today was pure terror. Tamika's dead and an attacker tricked me.
