"Hey! Hey! Psst! Is everything ok Lis!"
A whisper waked her.
She saw Hallstein and how he was chained to the wall. "This is my punishment. But I'm surprised that you can still stand."
Lis wiped the blood from his face and bandaged the wounds.
"Never trust anyone too much. Last time I trusted someone I ended up here, just like you. It's a hard world out there. It's not made for us."
-
"Why us? I mean your so strong. What happened to you that you think you're weak?"
Lis sat on the floor near the wall of the cell.
-
"Well even if I told you it would be another story it's not. When I was as old as you my father sold me. He said we would go hunt some dragons but actually he brought me to a masked man who turned out as your father. I never saw my father again. Maybe he didn't have a choice or he thought he never had one. There is always more than one way. But your father brought me here and trained me, he tortured me and trained me so that I could do the same with his descendant at some point. I'm perfectly trained to be the perfect killer. They teached me to use every single weapon that exists, they showed me how to be invisible, how to hide in the shadows, making not a single noise. You taught me how to read your opponent's thoughts, feelings and feelings. They teach you how to manipulate people. They tortured me until I could no longer feel the pain. My heart got cold and let no feelings in, I became a monster and there is no way out. And the worst of all, they will do the same with you while the rest of your family believes that you're dead."
-
An awkward silence was coming up. No one wanted to continue this talk. Lis was frustrated of her future and Hallstein felt bad about that be told this innocent girl the truth.
-
-
A few months later, Lis was in her cell doing pushups. Everything Hallstein had told her has been put into practice so far. And the small scratches and abrasions that initially robbed her of sleep were now invisible to her. Her education was merciless, painful, and severe.
-
They survived with condensation dripping from the ceiling, went hungry for weeks, and tried to keep alive with insects. From time to time the guards gave her something.
-
Hallstein told her how bloody and cruel the world was, and if she could get out of here, she couldn't trust anyone.
"The only one you can trust is yourself." he said.
-
Hegar tortured Lis with punches and hunger. She hadn't seen daylight in over a month, and every light blinded her.
-
In the arena, all weapons have been introduced and explained to her over the past few months. Sometimes, however, a certain weapon was simply put in her hands and prisoners were released on her and she then had to fight back. One of the prisoners was Bjørn. Lis knew him from a ship that arrived on the island six months ago. He came from a distant island. He knew brilliant stories when he was in the cell next to Lis, but when she had to fight him, he was completely different.
-
Hegar knew that Bjørn was a strong prisoner and he was brutal and a psychopath. Lis couldn't sleep when he was near her. Even if he had could be a nice man he still scared her. Hegar used that agains Lis and wanted Lis to kill him.
-
Lis really give her best to survive plus never killed anyone. Sometimes she lost control and hurt one of them but after sonething like this she broke down and couldn't move.
-
-
One of the guards came in and took Lis again into the arena. She saw Hallstein standing there and on his arm was a little dragon sitting.
