My Relationship With Artemis Fowl

This chapter only exists because I wanted to just share with SOMEONE how I feel. It's difficult to talk to people about the things I love because they find it boring or annoying.

So. Artemis Fowl. A book series. In fact, THE book series. I love it. A lot.

In case you are unfamiliar with Artemis Fowl, it is a series of eight books by Eoin Colfer, set in Dublin, Ireland. The titles are as follows:

I also want to take you through the plots.
The first book follows the path of a twelve-year-old child prodigy named Artemis Fowl who loves to indulge in criminal endeavours. His mother is bedridden with crippling depression after the disappearance of his father two years ago. Artemis has discovered a hidden race of underground-dwelling fairies, and he decides to exploit them in order to restore his family's fortune in gold. He kidnaps a member of the fairy police - in fact, the very first female member of the Lower Elements Police force, Captain Holly Short. However, Artemis doesn't quite realise what he's got himself in for, and he begins to suspect he's bitten off more than he can chew...

In the Arctic Incident, Artemis receives a message from the Russian Mafiya regarding his father. He discovers that his father is being held hostage in the Arctic Circle, and he is determined to rescue him. However, there is also a commotion going on below ground, in the fairy world. It has been discovered that goblins have been trading illegal power sources with humans, and of course Artemis is immediately blamed. Upon proving his innocence, Artemis and Holly team up to both uncover the power source mystery and save his father.

In the Eternity Code, Artemis invents a hugely advanced technological device, but he uses stole fairy components to build it. So, when he promptly gets it stolen by a shady IT billionaire with alleged mob connections, it's not good. This man could accidentally uncover the fairy world and he is exactly the type of person to exploit it. Artemis has to get it back, but he'll need some help...

In the Opal Deception, Artemis has been mind-wiped. He has no memory of the fairy world, which turns out to be a problem. Evil pixie Opal Koboi is determined to take over the world, and it's up to Artemis to stop her. However, with Holly on the run, the only person he can rely on is a flatulent dwarf. But with his memories gone, how can he be expected to save the world - again?

In the Lost Colony, Artemis has discovered a new species of fairy called demons, who live on an island that floats through time, being held there by a time spell. But, the time spell is unravelling, and demons have started popping up all over the world. To add to his problems, there's a new juvenile genius in town, and she's after the demons...

In the Time Paradox, Artemis's mother is severely ill. She has contracted a very rare, magical disease, and the only animal that can supply the cure went extinct nearly eight years ago. The problem is, it was Artemis that killed the last one. This means that Artemis and Holly must go back in time to face his deadliest enemy yet... himself.

In the Atlantis Complex, Artemis develops a mental illness not unlike multiple-personality disorder... and becomes nice? What's more, the underwater city of Atlantis is under threat by a vengeful LEP captain and his army of destructive robots, and nice Artemis is no use to anyone. Can Holly get devious Artemis back before it's too late?

Finally, in the Last Guardian, Opal Koboi is back, and she's absolutely determined this time that she will take over the world. She opens an old magical gate, releasing the spirits of dead fairy warriors into the world. They begin possessing bodies, but what happens when those bodies include foxes or badgers... or two little boys by the names Myles and Beckett Fowl? Yep, Artemis's own little brothers could be involved in destroying the world. Artemis has to stop Opal, but this time, it may not end happily...
