"Your name is Clarke?" Anya questioned as she looked the younger girl up and down. She nodded in response. "I'm Anya." Clarke held out her hand for Anya to shake however she just looked down at it, insulted.

"I think we got off to a rough start, but we want to find a way to live together in peace." So far, so good. Clarke wasn't sounding like her usual obnoxious self which made Venus feel relieved.

"I understand. You started a war that you don't know how to end." Anya declared superciliously.

"What? No. We didn't start anything. You attacked us for no reason." The blonde snapped back defensively.

"No reason? The missiles you launched burned a village to the ground." The older girl explained coolly. Clarke paused for a moment as she tried to grasp what Anya was referring to.

"The flares? No. That was a signal meant for our families. We had no idea..." before Clarke was able to finish Anya cut her off.

"You're invaders. Your ship landed in our territory." This was getting very heated, very quickly. Venus bit her knuckle nervously as she watched the dispute unfold.

"We didn't know anyone was here. We thought the ground was uninhabited."

"You knew we were here when you sent an armed raiding party to capture one of us and torture him. These are all acts of war." Anya explained coldly as she referenced Lincoln. Clarke paused as she pondered her next words carefully. She took a deep breath before looking to Anya calmly.

"I see your point. That's why we need to put an end to all of this."

"V...Lincoln said there are more of you coming down, warriors." Venus froze in her spot. Hoping that nobody picked up on Anya's mistake. Thankfully, it seemed everyone was too wrapped up in the action to notice her minor slip up.

"The guard, yes, but also farmers, doctors, engineers. We can help each other but not if we're at war." Clarke explained and Anya almost looked convinced.

"Can you promise that these new arrivals won't attack us, that they'll respect the terms you and I agree on?" She asked, keeping her head held high so that she was looking down on Clarke.

"I promise I will do everything I can to convince them to honor the terms that we set." The blonde said with a nod.

"Why would I agree to an alliance that your people can break the moment they get here?" Clarke looked stumped for a response.

"If you fire the first shot, those people coming down won't bother negotiating. Our technology- They will wipe you out." She said after a moment of contemplation.

"They wouldn't be the first to try." Anya said with a confident smirk as she looked back towards her people.

Before Clarke got a chance to respond Jasper and Bellamy emerged from the tree line and began shooting at the trees frantically. "Run!" One of the boys yelled. Venus' eyes widened in terror as an arrow began hurtling towards her. She swiftly dodged it before sprinting off of the bridge and into the forest. She watched in horror as Octavia tried to help an injured Lincoln. There were arrows flying at her from every direction; it was a miracle she hadn't been hit already. Venus knew that Lincoln could take care of himself, she darted over to the pair and grabbed Octavia by the wrist.

"We need to go now!" She yelled as she dragged the younger girl away from Lincoln. She screamed in protest but finally stopped when she saw him get to his feet and follow after his people. The pair began to dart through the woods, weaving through trees and ducking under low branches as they went. Eventually, the rest of the group caught up to them and they didn't stop running until they reached the gate to the camp. Venus had been leading the group and was the first to arrive. She stopped and leant forward with her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.
