Venus had had an extremely restless sleep, which for her, was rather unusual. She couldn't stop herself from feeling guilty that she had been lying to Bellamy, Octavia and the rest of the delinquents about who she was and why she was there. But she felt even more guilty that she wanted to protect the sky people as well as her own. Venus had always known what she needed to do and done it with ease, but now, for the first time in her life she was in a moral dilemma. Her internal conflict was interrupted when she heard gasps and murmurs coming from outside. She quickly scrambled out of her tent to see what all of the fuss was about. She looked up to the black night sky to see that something other than stars was lighting it up. There was a small contraption plummeting towards earth.     "They're coming to help us. Now we can kick some grounder ass." Venus heard one of the delinquents yell cheerily as the others all smiled up at the night sky or laughed at his comment. That was exactly what she was afraid of. Venus looked through the crowd to see Bellamy staring up at the sky, looking as if he was about to vomit. He caught eyes with Venus and the pair exchanged a worried look. He gestured to her and Mbedge to join him in his tent and the pair did.

"If it cleared the ridge than it's probably near the lake." Mbedge explained as he furrowed his brow in thought. Bellamy nodded appreciatively at his analysis and was about to respond when Octavia burst into the tent.

"We should get moving, Bel. Everyone's ready." She reported hurriedly.

"No one's going anywhere. Not while it's dark it isn't safe. We'll head out at first light; pass the word." Bellamy instructed in his familiar leader voice. Mbege nodded and exited the tent however Octavia just looked at Bellamy as if he was stupid.

"Everyone for a hundred miles saw this thing come down. What if the grounders get to it first? We should go now." The younger Blake protested as she stepped in front of Bellamy.

"We're not going to be much of a rescue party if we get picked off by grounders before we can get to them. I agree with Bellamy. We need to wait until it's safe." Venus said authoritatively. The younger girl just let out a sigh in defeat before exiting the tent. Venus waited until she was certain that Octavia was out of earshot. "So, when are we leaving?" Venus said as she picked up a knife off of Bellamys make shift table.

"Now. Let's go, cutie." Bellamy said with a smirk as he peeled back the flap at the back of his tent. Of course Bellamy had a back door. Venus returned his smirk before swiftly leaving the tent.

The sun had began to rise and Venus and Bellamy had been traipsing through the forest in search of whatever had been sent down from the ark. Venus prayed that it wasn't reinforcements or her people would be as good as dead. The pair came to an abrupt stop when they heard footsteps behind them. They turned to see Octavia looking at them in disgust. "Bellamy, Venus! What are you doing?" She snapped.

Venus could sense that this was a sibling thing. "I'm going to walk ahead and see if I can see anything." She told Bellamy. He nodded at her in appreciation and she wandered off into the forest, leaving the pair to discuss their differences.

10 minutes later Bellamy joined her at the foot of a large hill. There was a pillar of smoke at the top, which they assumed to be whatever had come down from the ark. "What happened with Octavia?" Venus asked as she began to walk up the hill.

"I had to tell her about what I did. It was the only way she wouldn't try to stop us." He said as he hung his head in shame.

Venus cringed. "How'd she take it?" She questioned further.

"A hell of a lot worse than you did." The dark eyed boy responded, trying to lighten the mood.

"That's because she doesn't get it. She's never had to make the tough calls because you were always there to make them for her." She said in her best attempt to be comforting. Bellamy absorbed her words, thinking about them carefully. It amazed him how Venus always seemed to know the right thing to say, it was a trait that he certainly wished he had.
